Changing Our Legion's Name
|
Hello everyone, I've been modelling and painting for a long time within the Warhammer community. However I have very little knowledge on fluff and as I'd call them 'great battles of the 40k universe' my question being is there such things as audiobooks that go through the stories of the great wars, if so where would I purchase them? Is there any that really focus on the wars commencing etc?
Thanks for any help in advance
PS, wasn't really sure where to post this, apologies if its in the wrong place.

Right place
I'd suggest the Horus Heresy series is the obvious choice, what happened in 30k sets up what is happening/about to happen in 40k.

is my favourite 40k audio drama.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Obligatory Horus Heresy suggestion So its not going to be 40k but the 30k battles get right down to the nitty gritty of the battle, and and amazing. I would highly HIGHLY suggest you listen to the first 5 books in the series, in order. -Horus Rising -False Gods -Galaxy In flames -Flight of the Eisenstein -Fulgrim It also just so happens that the first 5 may or may not highly likely exist on some sort of website that is a tevelviton or as they called them many years ago, a "Tube" that is made for "You" Wink wink nudge nudge say no more. Because honestly i love GW, but there are somethings i cant validate buying, their audio books at their prices, is one of them.

15 quid for an audiobook is ridiculous, especially when it's not even a particularly long one!
As you say though, with the right search terms you can find a few more than those 5
I recommend the Garro series

Black library does have an app out now that you can buy, download and listen to pretty much all the audio books they have. Aside from that, I don't have anything more to contribute

Just finished the Garro series, bloody amazing i really enjoyed the one where it was about whats her name the book keeper lady, kinda let you look into the civilian world a bit, and see that its actually pretty normal.
