Asking for a friend: When moving, he apparently lost the guns, mouth claws, and various miscellaneous bits for his Heirophant model. He still has the rest of the kit, but the guns at least are really important, and everything else is still pretty good to have. Since it was his own fault and happened a while after purchasing the model, it's not covered under any FW warranty, and they don't reissue or resell lost bits. (I know. I asked.)

Any idea how to rectify this situation, either with proxies, or finding a third party model supplier or ebay salesperson who would have what he needs?

Hmm there must be a tyranid player who knows.

If he knows the order number (should have an email from FW) or can find the order number with FW on the phone, they very well may send out replacement parts.

Their customer service is superb.

Not as good as you'd think in this case..

Their customer service is superb, but like I said, I asked about getting replacement parts reissued, and their hands are pretty much tied. He ordered it several years ago, he definitely got all the parts in, and then he lost them. (Also, because it was several years ago, I'm not sure he can even dig out the email with the order number, I dunno what client he uses.) It's an understandable policy, it's just a frustrating one because those were important parts and there's no real substitute - I can replace or find alternate options for a Lascannon or a big turrety gun, but specifically sized bio-cannons are hard to come by.

This is why I never overextend my workload and I go in with a plan to get things done. If it's not going to be done within a year at maximum then I won't buy it. If the extraordinary happens and I get so busy I can't finish something then I make sure to regularly check for all parts at least to make sure I don't lose any. Constant vigilance.

Also why I don't have a big backlog.

Honestly unless your lucky enough to find someone willing to part with the bits your screwed. I know people look down on recasts here but in this case I would look into it as a last resort to save money.

I actually looked into that, but I don't know any unscrupulous recasters to help in this situation.

Yeah I read this. This is when you call again and get a different individual or ask to speak to a supervisor. They can help.

I guess if you offered to pay a small sum to delivery and cost of part you might get some traction?

Bite the bullet and buy another on ebay or direct.

You MIGHT be lucky with an ebay Barbed Hierodule - don't KNOW if the guns are the same size but worth a look and cheaper than another Hierophant.
