Hi all I'm trying to build a list for the Emporers Wrath formation from the cadian supplement, but I'm a little stuck.

I understand what the formation consists of, CCS, Basilisk, wyvern, enginseer etc. But do you require a further CCS as a command/HQ to be able to field the auxiliary formation (the Emporer wrath). Therefore having 2 CCS.

Also with the command benefits of the cadian supplement you get to use 3 D6 for leaderships, and therfore does this mean you don't needVolks Cane?

And people talk about issuing 2 orders, but part of the command benefits are you can issue 3 over 24"?

I suspect I'm getting confused along the way somewhere.

Please help

Please hElphinstone

Formations are stand alone so you only need to take whats listed as required for the formation. If you take a CAD or allied detachment in addition to your formation you will need another CCS or Tank commander in your list. Im not too sure about the leadership thing, I always used the leadership of my commander plus a cane.

Just nitpicking here, but you can also take a Lord Commissar or Yarrick as the mandatory CAD/allied detachment HQ.

So, some clarification on the formation.
- There is no requirement to take a whole Cadian Battlegroup or any other detachment to take the Emperor's Wrath Artillery formation, and therefore you only need to take 1 total CCS to take the Emp's Wrath Artillery formation.
- If you are only taking the Emperor's Wrath Artillery company and are not going to meet the requirements for the full Cadian Battlegroup, you do not get the 3d6 leadership checks.
- The 3 orders at 24" only applies specifically to the CCS's that are part of the "Battlegroup Command", which are their own separate selection in Battlegroup, and so the Emp's Wrath CCS would never receive this benefit ever.

So yes, do take Volkov's cane. Heck, I would take it even with the 3d6 leadership checks. 10pts for a cane that makes it so only 1 in 36 of your orders fail.

- 10,000 pts
