So from what I understand about Imperial Guard fluff, they don't normally get permanently attached to a space marine legion (unlike the Imperial Army of the crusade days).
However, if I were to purchase some Storm Troopers, and have a guard regiment permanently attached to my Minotaurs army, could this be fluffy? I am talking putting the guard regiment in Minotaurs colours and everything.
I figure, as the Minotaurs are already the High Lords lap dogs, and 3 of the High Lords are for the Imperial Guard, it wouldn't be too far fetched that they would get their own guard regiment permanently attached (and restocked/re-manned). Minotaurs tactics involves throwing everything at an enemy, and it would make sense in my head canon that they would throw a regiment at an enemy as support/shock troops.

No, it would not be fluffy. It would be treason, the kind of thing that gets a space marine chapter executed (unless you're Ultrasmurfs, of course). A space marine leader may be put in overall command of a mixed force temporarily, but a permanent addition of IG forces would be a blatant violation of the separation of powers rule that is supposed to prevent another Heresy. The only way for it to make sense would be for the Minotaurs to conscript the IG forces in secret, as one of their first steps on the path to damnation. After all, the Minotaurs are just a few steps short of open Khorne worship, and there are always ends that justify the means...

Okay thank you, that is exactly what I was after. I didn't think it would work, but I thought if anyone had a loop hole here, it was the Minotaurs!

Loopholes are the first step of the path to damnation. Only through strict obedience to the Codex can purity be achieved. To do any less is to embrace the path of Khorne, as so many Minotaurs have already done.

Well technically they have already broken the codex many times already, despite fanatically trying to stick to it.

Yeah I'd say it's fluffy enough to get away with. It's your army, and it's not as if you're making Slaaneshi Eldar...
They wouldn't really need to be officially attached. More like the High Lords pull strings throughout the organisation so that they 'just so happen' to get deployed to the same conflicts...
If there's anyone who would have the political clout to bend the rules when it came to permanently attached IG regiments it would be the Attack Dogs of the High Lords. We know that the Ultramarines have the political clout to flaunt that rule with the Macragge PDF and their little private empire.

I like the sentence 'happen to get deployed with them', and to avoid suspicion, they can have the same red as the Minotaurs for their armour, and just black for the under fatigues, rather than Bronze

The real question is why space marines would bother with keeping a single IG unit around. Even stormtrooper regiments are replaceable and far more common than space marines. If, as you say, they're just cannon fodder to throw at the enemy then just spend a regiment and get a new one for the next battle. Why risk getting caught in an act of treason for so little gain?

I like having My Dudes™ to be honest, and I feel as the High Lords are currently throwing everything at the Minotaurs anyway (relic wargear, and lot's of it) why wouldn't they be throwing meat shields to the Minotaurs also (consisting of elite troops).
It's not treason if they are being sent from the High Lords without them asking for it, or the High Lords telling the Minotaurs where to go, and X regiment goes with them.
On that note, maybe it ins't just one IG regiment that is going around, maybe they would have multiple and My Dudes™ are just one of those.
Also, can you blame me for trying to make my Mary Sue chapter even more Mary Sue?

Exactly as per your dudes rules, you can do what you like plus, it fits with the fluff background for the Minotaurs. That's my one rule for bending the rules about certain things: co.e up with a good reason for it
Also, i wouldn't say the Minotaurs are Mary Sue. Mary Sues tend to be brilliant and betterer than anyone and don't afraid of anything. Perfect in every way (or noticeably better than their contemporaries for no discernable reason).
The Minotaurs have better kit than anyone else because they're the sinister off-the-books executioners of the High Lords. That gives a solid reason for them being powerful, and also an edge to them that's in keeping with the 40k aesthetic.
They're not golden do-gooders. They're team-killing b*stards. That makes them ok in my books

They would be, but it would be more like "ship the Minotaurs another load of relic bolt shells, and another regiment of stormtroopers" to keep up with the ammunition they're spending. Guardsmen are disposable, especially with a chapter as brutal as the Minotaurs. Throw them into battle, and if anyone happens to survive put them into the next regiment. There's no need to keep the regiment together under a single consistent identity or give them Minotaurs heraldry or anything. That only makes sense if the Minotaurs actually own the IG force, as opposed to using it as a tool in battle, which would be treason and damnation.

Now, Your Dudes (tm) could just be for one battle, a snapshot in time army as it were, and that wouldn't break any strict fluff iirc.

Yeah not a bad idea, I might just have them be regiments from the same planet, a planet of My Dudes™!!
