Hi guys, reading my Cult Mechanicus codex I noticed that at the end of the timeline relating a few events since the Horus Heresy, there was this little paragraph on the very end of the timeline, that I'll do my best to translate from French:
986999.M41 Desperate Measures
The Custodian Techpriests working in the Emperor's Palace discover malfunctions beyond repair in the mechanisms of the Golden Throne. More than ten emergency expeditions are set to launch immediately, among them a Xanthite War Procession through the Portal of Exhubris. The Xanthites must face Harlequins and Demonic forces before reaching their destination: a terrible pact is concluded in the dark underground of Commoragh.
So I don't know if I'm coming in two hundred years too late and you guys already discussed that, but I wanted to know if this was an information already known before ? It seems to me we knew long ago that the Golden Throne was crashing, but the pact in Commoragh was unknown to me. Surely it has to be with the Dark Eldars, as the Harlequins tried to stop them going there, but my knowledge of the lore is not that much big. So if you guys have more information regarding this, please enlighten me !
Thanks in advance.

Or though there was mention of one of the Inquisitors having been to the Black Library (probably around the time the game Inquisitor came out), so in hind sight we knew something was up then.

Well, the commorites also have a webway gate in the basement with something trying to break in, so maybe there's common ground. Hell, maybe it's the same something.....

So it's a new piece of lore coming in ? And it's the webway that's located underneath the Palace ? I thought it was another Warp portal of some sorts, with demons trying to get in and Custodes fighting forever.

The portal being referred to is one under commoragh. It is in fact a portal directly from the webway to the warp and something is trying to get in. I don't think it's particularly common knowledge but those who do know are collectively ****ing themselves over it, with Vect capturing a whole bunch of psychic nulls and leaving them there in the hope they'll help. He's also got quite a lot of incubi (~200 from memory) stationed down there. Of course lady Malys thinks he's trying to open the door, rather than guard it, and is trying to stop him. Vect thinks she's trying to open it and so is fighting back.

Wow the Xanthites are asked to help fix it and actually fix it. Take that puritan snobz.
For non team Xanthite players this is quite interesting since those guys sure can be ehm... unexpectedly unorthodox and creative in their methods who knows what this totally legit deal is going to be.

It's kinda obvious isn't it? Dark Eldar are THE race when it comes to increasing life span and resurrection after death. If the Golden Throne is failing, the mechanicus need other options, so who they'd go talk to the Haemonculi who have been resurrecting dead Eldar for millennia.

All these connecting storylines and the way the plot is moving forward screams End Times, or at the very least something big on the horizon.

Did they try turning it off and on again ?
Or maybe let him die for good, as he is a perpetual (I think I read that somewhere) he'll just respawn with full HP.

But they don't know that he's a perpetual and think he'll just finally die if they stop the throne. That thing's been failing in the background for a while now, it'd be good if they actually have stuff done about it rather than "well the tech priests know its failing but just stand around and shrug".

Even if he does spring back to life after he dies (and it's certainly not a guarantee that he will), the death of such a profoundly psychic being would tear open the materium and create a new mini eye of terror centred directly on earth itself. Heh. Eye of Terra I think the main thing it proves is that, against all odds and previous experience, the fluff writers have remembered that Dark Eldar are a thing that does stuff outside of their own codex! Couldn't be more pleased

This is a well known item in the Dark Eldar community, but not well known at large. The haemunculi are masters at prolonging life (as others have stated), and the DE at large are great at technology (still producing tech at a level similar to what was being produced before the Fall).
Khanes Gate is different from this (once again, as covered by others), and that reference is specific to the Ad Mech going to the Dark City to ask politely to help fix the throne. Based on the DE track record of "helping" other races, something is bound to go wrong very quickly.
Still hoping we get a shout-out at the Fall of Cadia!

Given DE's track record of giving people what they want but with a horrible twist, if Cadia falls then I want the IG to ask Vect to retake it just to see what he does. The potential for things to go horribly wrong...

I found the English version:
The Tech-Priest custodians at work in the Emperor’s Palace uncover irrevocable failures
in the mechanisms of the Golden Throne. A dozen contingency expeditions are
immediately launched, including a Xanthite war procession sent through the Exhubris
Portal. The Xanthites fight through Harlequin Troupes and Daemon hordes alike before
reaching their intended destination. In the grave-cold oubliettes beneath Commorragh, a
dark bargain is struck.
