Hi all,

Yay Night Lords!

Just looking for some of you lovely people to give my list a look over, and spot and potential mistakes or things I may have overlooked.

Lord of the Legion:

DP of Tzeentch, MLvl 3, Wings, Stormbolt Plate


Raptor Talon:

Chaos Lord - Power Sword, SoC, Scourging Chains, Melta Bombs, (Free Jump Pack)

5 x Raptors - Melta Gun x 2, Power Weapon on champ (was thinking sword, other ideas welcomed), Melta Bomb on Champ
5 x Raptors - Melta Gun x 2, Power Weapon on champ (same as above), Melta Bomb on Champ
5 x Raptors - Melta Gun x 2, Power Weapon on champ (same as above), Melta Bomb on Champ


Chaos Warband:

Chaos Lord, Bike, SoC, Claws of the Black Hunt, Melta Bombs

3 man Termicide unit, 3 x Combi- Plasma

5 x CSM, flamer, Power weapon on the Champ - Rhino, Havoc Launcher, Dirge Caster, Dozer Blades
5 x CSM, flamer, Power weapon on the Champ - Rhino, Havoc Launcher, Dirge Caster, Dozer Blades

Biker Unit, 2 x Melta-Gun, Power weapon and Melta Bombs on Champ

Havocs, 3 extra bodies, 4 x Autocannons

Auxillary: 5 x Spawn


The Idea is to have the DP fly around using spells from either Telepathy or Sinistrum, maybe both depending how lucky I get by rolling on Telepathy to begin with.
The Raptor talon Lord and 2 units of Raptors deepstrike in and assault (hopefully)... The last squad of Raptors starts on the board in cover and hangs back in my deployment zone as a deterrent.
Termicide squad deepstrikes in as an additional threat/target saturation.
Biker Lord joins the spawn and rushes up the table to do his thing, some clarification here if someone would be so kind... I've seen in a batrep or two that people have only re-rolled one miss whilst using the Claws of the Black Hunt, yet it says in the item entry that EACH claw has the following profile... Master crafted, Str +1 etc. I'm not wrong in saying the pair give the user +2 Str and 2 re-rolls to hit, am I?
The CSM in Rhinos use cover to get mid-field and secure objectives with covering fire from the Havocs' Autocannons. The squad of Raptors that is hanging back can jump up to support, if necessary.
Bikers will rush about and pop anything that needs popping with Meltas.
This totals 1803pts, leaving me 47 to play around with, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You get two claws. But you can't use them both simultaneously.. that's not how multiple weapons work.. You just get a +1 attack for have 2ccw. Then all your attacks are at +1S and with one reroll.

I can see that, just strikes me as odd the they specifically state that each claw has this profile, instead of just that the claws give the user +1 str etc, also that they replace ALL weapons of the user too...

I'd spend the extra point on a couple more bikers

Nah, who am I kidding? I'd 'upgrade' one of the raptor units to warp talons. I'm not saying you should but if I were playing Night Lords I'd feel compelled to. Rule of cool.

It's not really odd at all. It's for fluff reasosns most likely...as lightning claws (which they are just beefed up LCs) are usually taken in pairs since they are specialist weapons. These are not specialist weapons but they force you to take them in a pair and forsake all other weapons...mimicking that favorite unit of Night Lords, the Warp Talons. Pretty cool, but not great overall since most guys you might buy them on are gonna want some sort of AP2 weapon if at all possible.

Edit: I love the DP with the rerollable 2+ and +1 to cover. I have been planning to ally in Night Lords to my Daemons just to play this guy. He's going to be my summon battery most likely. I would suggest throwing a Spell Familiar on him too. Better chance of getting off those clutch powers.

I never leave home without dirge casters! They're very useful in the games I play.

The only real source of melee AP2 for these guys is probably your DP and power axes on your champs or lords...of course then you are swinging last in a challenge so your mileage may vary.
