If this was on a serious platform like Kickstarter I'd consider it, but that might also be why it's been going since Nov20th and only one backer.

I like the concept, probably the closest I'll ever get to getting my galaxy rangers.

Copper Mine make a standard size horse that is already available.

These horses are based on the English Shire Horse ( I believe) and they are mahoosive beasts. They are carrying a gatling gun after all.

I think it is a nice touch.

Interesting point, even Kickstarter started with one project. I have decided to start my own crowdfunding as I was losing about 11% to Kickstarter, which means the pledge levels have to higher, the goals have to be higher. It made it all very difficult to justify and goals were unattainable. This new site I hope will grow as I have plans for more projects of my own and ultimately I plan to open it up to individuals to propose figures and try and get backing. I hope from a small acorn a miniature oak tree will grow.

Payment is handled by Stripe which is a major money handler and I have a record of supplying products that customers have paid for.

Thank you for your feedback it is very insightful.

Hi alphaecho

You are correct the heavy horse is quite a bit bigger than the standard horse and is based on the English Shire horses. Here is a size comparison, I am waiting for some painted masters that I may get this weekend, once I get these I'll post them.

I hope this explains why the riders look small on these heavy beasts.

No the Wild West come in a variety of poses, the Cog Division is a new range and a work in progress, I am hopping to do more posses, its just down to money I am afraid.

What did you have in mind?

Is the platform putting people of from pledging on this?

I really would like some feedback as to where I am going wrong or is it the figures have no appeal?

I'm sure that you'd have got more interest with a kickstarter campaign as far more people will be looking there for minis, and rightly or wrongly they are a trusted brand

(despite the fact that if things go wrong there is little or nothing that can do, and they seem to do less and less project vetting... other than keeping out the please buy me a PS4 etc types)

Indiegogo is less well known and less attractive (especially to US audiences) but is still a reasonably well recognised platform which should get a decent number of views

my feeling is a project with the hope of getting 100 or so backers on KS will do about 70 on indiegogo but as the potential backer count rises KS becomes more and more attractive compared to indegogo

Looking at the figures themselves they're not something I'm into, but they seem solid enough, but I think the painted examples are letting you down

the undercoated examples look very grainy (as if they've been sprayed from too far away or when theres too much humidity in the air), and so may worry people about the level of clean up they'd need to do

and similarly while the painted example probably looks ok on the table top it isn't something that that does well blown up on a PC/Tablet, so i'd advise finding somebody who can paint to a higher standard

(if you know anybody in your circle of friends who could help you out, great, but if not see if you can pay a professional... or even trade some casts for the work)

I've also a memory of somebody running a steampunk horse minis kickstarter project in the last couple of years (your basic design is ringing bells was this you?) so demand may have been satisfied if that delivered ok or have put those interested in the idea off totally if it went bady

Thank you for your thoughts.

I did pay someone to paint the figures for me, whos work I like but I am not a great photographer. The grey ones though are not quite right and have turned up grainy.

I ran the original Kickstarter for the Steam Horses and it was supplied fine and no major drama that I remember.

My main reason for trying my own platform was to [A] cut the cost of the project and [B] if it worked open it up to others to nominate their own ideas. Even 1 figure would work on this smaller, simpler and cheaper platform.

Good luck. I'm in for a £39 pledge.

They could even be big enough for counts as Scout Sentinels!

Using Kickstarter as your platform instead of creating your own is the best way to go I think.
Best of luck.
