So cadia was destroyed what do you folks think will happen to the current IG range made up mostly of cadians?

It'd stay the same as either remnants of cadia or mass produced standardised equipment anyway. Maybe they'll paint them a new colour.

From what I gather after the fall Cadians put on their winter gear.

We don't know yet if Cadia is destroyed yet. Just because a planet is shown being blown up doesn't mean it's Cadia. It could be another planet in the system or what ever. Doesn't mean it's Cadia.

There are actually other planets in the system. For example there's a deathworld they have nearby that they use for training in hostile enviornments.

Cadians are some of the gakkiest models GW makes. Feth em. May they all melt in the fires of Mount Doom (or Mustafar).

Yeah, they're pretty ridiculously ugly. No real loss on that front. Except for maybe Kasrkin, those guys are pretty cool.

Probably an unpopular opinion but I'm hoping the range gets axed. Cadians themselves aren't going anywhere obviously. Even if Cadia falls there will still be billions if not trillions of them in the universe. They find themselves in conflicts everywhere. So existing Cadian players need not worry about their army becoming irrelevant. They will basically be a tanith 1st and only on roids. I would either like to see an entirely new regiment of IG introduced or support for the older ranges. Most of the regiments only got 1 pewter run and that is it. Whereas cadians got 1-2 pewter runs, 1-2 plastic runs and models on Forgeworld. Anyone who was interested in the cadian aesthetic has made their investment. The IG is made of tens if not hundreds of thousands of regiments. Its time the models reflect that. You're currently lucky if you can find more than 1 in your FLGS.

It would be nice for us old times IG players to get a new model range, new rules (betting 8th will do that across the board) and some new tank models... the Russ has rusted my interest.

Fully agree. Even though I've dabbled in SM and Orks, I started with guard and will always consider myself a guard player. I don't think they are going to get axed, after all, the guard comes from nearly all the worlds of the Imperium as a whole. I do hope we see some new sculpts though, moving away from the Cadian line. There really hasn't been anything new for IG players sense I started. Sure, we've gotten a new kit here and there, but of Cadians. I want something new that we haven't seen yet.

I'm still waiting fir my 65 kasrkins to be relevant again.

Hotshot rifles are so trash tho. Maybe stormtroopers are gonna get some new supplemrnts or something since they are mentionned in the fall of cadia book.

I saw spoiler alert in the title. So ive got a possible spoiler. I read some of the leaked pages from the upcoming suppliment. Cadia hasnt technically fallen. Both armies on cadia virtually annihilate eachother eachother but then a little scuffle with some important characters ends with abbadon calling a retreat on the initial battle. Setting the stage for people to play the campaign themselves. Cadia is still alive. Its just essentially europe after ww1. I have a couple more details but unless anyone asks i wont spoil.more. just enough to give some hope for.cadia

Moving forward? They whole premise of Warhammer 40,000 is that there's nothing to move forward to. It's five minutes to midnight, and Man's Doom is knocking down the door, crawling up from the basement, and oozing in the windows, as well as raining from the sky, and in bed next to him.

Master of Mankind was a pretty good novel, but the best part was the Afterword by the author when he explains how 40k works as a genre. There's no forward left to go, and all that's left is to rage against the dying of the light.

I'm with you. It would make sense for a revamp of IG to match the tempestus scion "gothic look" and im sure they will be smart and make them generic and color them different and call them regiments. I would bet there will be no regiments outside of fluff like we had long ago.

Oh and for those in denial. Cadia blew up...
