Hey guys!

So I was after a bit of cumminity help on an up and coming Battle I have planned, I'm looking to use my brand new Thousand Sons army to shut down the infamous Cult Mechanicus.

A few details
- I've got 2 month to prep
- 3000 point battle
- with 2 months prep I can buy the models I need
- he will most likely take a war covern plus more goodies

Figure I have the time to ask you guys for some help! What I thought up so far,
War Cabel:
Arhiman
10 rubric Marines
5 occult Terminators with Hellfyre missle rack
1 exalted sorcerer

Rehati war sect
Magnus the Red
3 exalted sorcerer

Tzaangor warherd
Exalted sorcerer
60x Tzaangors

Note all exalted sorcerers are mastery level 3 upgrade

As long as he is not bringing any allies other then the basic ones for Admech, like an IK, consider the pshycic phase yours and make sure to capitalize on that.
You might want to add some deamons to your list, some Pink Horrors would do nicely. Exalted Flamers are also quite good. Screamers work quite well against Admech.
I guess you want to keep it a bit fluffy? So mono-Tzeentch is a must? Or otherwise as Thousands Sons as possible?
Because if not, the you might want to consider taking a Raptor Talon formation with meltaguns, deep strike behind his vehicles and shoot them in the back. This formation also works quite well versus a knight as you can bypass his Ion-Shield a lot easier.
Having multiple flyers is also a good option, since he will most likely take some anti-air to take down Magnus and giving him multiple targets might distract some fire from Magnus.
Some Helldrakes or extra deamon princes would do nicely.
You could also choose to have almost no flyers and let Magnus take all the shots, since he is tanky enough to eat a lot of them.
You might even want to consider taking a Void Shield generator (or two, since its 3000pts) to protect your units against shooting should you fail to get the initiative.

Best way to prepare against Admech is by making sure you got enough anti-vehcile, things to stop a knight and enough survivability to take a lot of fire power coming your way.

AdMech has access to a Culexus assassin, right? That may be worth planning for.

Have you considered adding some conversions to those exalted sorcerers so that they can pass as Daemon Princes? Units that fly are dramatically harder to kill than jetbikers.

By ally, Yes. But unless Admech side is taking 3 or more of the Culexus, Magnus and the DPs can easily avoid them by flying around. You just need to have some cheap and fearless blobs to tie up the assassin, to avoid him keep moving to block your way.
