Da and wolves always need to have a one on one before the fight to find out who the warlord is :p

They rarely duel before in the fluff because they rarely show up together and it's never to find out who the warlord is.
That said the two Venerable Dreads dueled, since first blood was impossible they played Rock Paper Scissors...although how Bjorn used anything but Scissors is a mystery.
