I wanted to share my latest project with all of you.
I love the Ork faction in 40k since almost "everything goes" while modeling and painting them. I wanted to do a proper kitbash for a while and had them loot this Stug III.
I had to replace the main and machine gun, since really, 40k scale is just ridiculous in those (among other) areas. Other than that I just added a few bits left and right and tried to give it a proper 40k and Orky feel.
Hope you like it and C&C as always welcome!

I like this conversion a lot. The Stug is such a perfect base for an ork loot, might want to make another Looted wagon now . Which model is it btw (maker/scale)?

It looks real nice and rusty and wonderful. The text on the back being the best finishing touch i think.

Thanks! The base is a "Stug III Ausf. G early version" 1:35 from Tamiya.

Looks the part. It does bring up a question I've been meaning to pose for some time --- what are some WW2-Cold War tanks most people have never seen/heard of, and do model kits exist?
The problem with being a vague armour fan is that it's nearly impossible not to immediately see the Stug when I look at that looted tank - I'm sure most people feel the same way. We've seen plenty of M113 rhinos, converted Panther tanks, Cromwells, Churchills, etc.
I wonder if there are some weird-agent Indonesian or Romanian cold-war vehicles which have model kits. Basically the most obscure tank kits we can find. I love conversions but it ruins it for me when I immediately see/identify the underlying pieces.

For me. recognising the Stug immediately, is what makes this conversion so nice.

For orks the Russian KV II should be a real winner. Not all that obscure though.
The Marder III will be great as well.
However, for some more obscure tanks you should go for the Japanese, Italian or French models.

To further increase the number of red-white-blue flags in this thread: I agree. It's too recognisable as a StuG for my tastes. It's a nice conversion with a very nice paint job, but it ruins the "immersion" for me by... well... being a StuG with ork bits on it, rather than an ork vehice. I'd personally have removed the schürzen, which is by far the most distinctive feature of German tanks to the general public. Automatically Appended Next Post: Singleton Mosby wrote:

Well... that's not gonna work for me, I'm afraid...
