Hello, so I'm a very new player building up my Necrons.
I have a box of the Start Collecting, which gave me a dozen warriors, 3 scarabs, overlord and a stalker.
I'm picking up my Warrior Ark Phalanx box tomorrow (dozen more warriors, 3 more scarabs and the ark). I was intending to build it as a Ghost Ark but is there any reason I should look into the Doomsday Ark instead? Anyone willing to plead that case or stick with the Ghost?

No, doomsday arks are bad. Ghost arks are good

Ghost Ark is better, but if you want to distract opponent from some other high value target - doomsday ark is good for that(we dont have alot of large blasts, or any blasts and templates for that matter so danger of s10 ap1 primary weapon ,DONT FORGET it, can setup stuff for ya - someone WILL come for it into your backfield).
So that kit. Assemble engine part (with driver and nozzles).
Be very careful with it - watch driver spine connection and hand over controls position - it can come out badly, dont glue it by instruction, prefit it or glue VERY lightly by superglue so you can snap it off.
Than - you gonna see that damaged warriors slot nicely into the barge - dont glue them - they're nightmare to paint in the ribs of the Ark.
If you dont glue warriors and canon fitting hole in - you can easily insert doomsday canon in there for some experiments it will be upside down - but good enaugh.

Since you are a new player I would advice using the Ghost Ark.
Having several of those is a great way to start your army with.
The Doomsday Ark is a good addition when you have a slightly bigger army.

Thanks for the feedback, sounds about what I was thinking.

Cool idea on the ark to not glue the crons and switch it out with the cannon to try it out. Thanks Dach

Use the damaged necros as objective markers and leave the 'cage' empty and if unglued from the drive section turn upside down and insert the cannon. Magnets or even blu tack can hold the sections in place. You can end up with 2-4-1.

This sounds awesome, I will definately try this out. Does anyone have a pic of their rig like this?
