My brother and I are at odds regarding the way new canticles work. Im gonna quote what we're at odds about.
"Below are three Canticles of the Archmagos that can only be used if Belisarius Cawl is on the battlefield. These work in exactaly the same way Canticles of the Omnissiah except they also affect friendly vehicle units from armies of the imperium within 12' of him, even if they don't have Canticles of the Omnissiah special rule."

Now my side is that you can only use ONE Canticles from either Archmagos or Omnissiah that turn
He thinks as long as Cawl is on the field he can use one Canticles from BOTH in the same turn

What do you think?

Was debating that myself

While they work the "Exact" same way, they are still two different rules, it could go either way.

You can do both. Works the same means that they are army wide effects for cult mech units that have that rule and that the canticle of the archmagos you want to use have to be decided upon at the start of your turn.
They are not the same power.
All cult mech units are subject to both canticles the CAWL does't cast canticles.

The exact same way also dictates you can only use 1 per turn unless stated otherwise like certain detachments allow. You can't claim they work the exact same but only reference part of the rule.

Working the Exact same, would mean would be able to be cast once per turn per game.

But they're still two different rules.

The problem is that's not what the rule says.
It states one "canticle".
It's pretty obvious this isn't just a new rule but an additional set of canticles since they specifically tied canticles of the archmagos to the canticles of the omnissiahs rule.

Not to mention warhammer tv actually played it this way on the twitch stream.
Just an FYI if you have Amazon prime you get a twitch stream subscription each month for free. This allows you to go back and watch the game designers and/or community team play.

The Warhammer TV guys don't actually know how the rules work... they mistake them pretty regularly. That's not solid evidence.

It's two seperate rules that function in the same way. You get both.

Yea when it comes down to your opinion and gw designers and community members who regularly give rules feedback on a rules question. I'm going with the rules guy. But you keep arguing your opinion is right,

They've also charged out of rhinos in the past. So there's that.

The difference is we have two separate ad mech games using cawl on twitch, one is competitive, using 4 different gw mid level management employees and hosted by the community team about a question that is unclear.

I wonder why people didn't ask in the twitch chat.

Personally I think the twitch stream point is null and void as they get many rules wrong. Also, in the white dwarf battle report they used both in one turn, so......

um where did you read that in the white dwarf? the only parts that talk about cawls canticles never mentions using the omnissiah at the same time.
