So, with the Gatherign Storm maybe leading to the end of the Cadians (probably not)., I was wondering about adding more regiments. Here what it takes to make a new regiemtn 3 kits. 1. the Command Squad, 2. the Infantry squad, 3. the heavy weapons teams (and maybe some special weapons teams). You could add plenty more guardsman regiments, (plastic Valhannans, please) and I doubt GW lacks inspiration. Would it be worth it or are there betting things they can focus on?

So make yourselves ready. We are the First Kronus Regiment, and today is our Victory Day. " - Governor-Militant Lukas Alexander, Commander 1st Kronus Regiment

I have 4000 points of Cadians and I'd probably still pick up a few boxes of a new Guard regiment if it added diversity in gender and poses.

The fan answer would be a resounding yes.

The specific regiment would be a resounding mix.

So...maybe?

Of course I'm biased and would love a Mordians/Praetorian Guard kit, but I also have Vic's far superior minis to go with anyways, so I'm not overly fussed.

Wouldn't complain about plastic versions though. Or plastic Valhallans. Or Vostroyans.

*Edit* gak, almost forgot about adding women to the sprues. Would love to see GW add some women to the sprues for a little more visual distinction in the mass of the Guard.

Definantly would be nice to show that the Imperium doesn't quilify women as being above duty (yes above no one, except me and other idiots like me want ot be in the guard)

It'd be nice, but I wouldn't consider it a big priority. Like you say, I think the first move would be to produce plastic versions of the popular regiments. Catachans are goofy looking IMO but they were the only ones in plastic when I got started, so half my army is Catachan. Plastic Tallarns and Valhallans would be dope. But really I would like specialist units or regimental doctrines.

No need, plenty of 3rd party full squad kits and conversion kits; from the likes of madrobot miniatures and Victorian miniatures, very high quality and fits right with GW and forgeworld IG kits, though some better than others.

I think Games Workshop should start a sub-faction initiative starting with Chaos.

They should release upgrade sprues/unique boxes for specific legions, and also have two variants of the plastic CSM, one being "Chaos" (mutated) and the other being "Renegade" (essentially the current CSM box)

Then move onto Guard, releasing unique guard miniatures and offering upgrade sprues for units like the Wyvern or Basilisk that include visible infantry.

They could honestly go and continue that method with anything else if they wanted. At that point I'd go with ork clans, move onto Necron Dynasties, and then when there's finally nothing left... Just start making new units.

NBC troops would be cool, gasmasks, rubber coveralls, etc...

Or hive worlders with epic hair, optional drug inhalers and home made knives...

Or penal guard, prison coveralls, control collars and a shotgun toting "sergeant"...

You could even add a couple new rules just for fun, and really boost the cool factor.

Honestly I think it would be worth GW doing their own conversion kits so that people can bring their IG armies to official events or use for games in stores. There's obviously a demand for this kind of stuff, GW may as well cash in on it. A conversion kit for each popular regiment and a few HQ units would be a good start.

Chaos undivided: 8300, Tau empire: 5600, Ork speed freaks: 1750
