I'm planning a list for a 1850 custom scenario from the fall of cadia book. One of the special rules is my warlord must be a daemon prince and can pick any three boons he wants ( not including 11-22 & 64-66). Want to take an Alpha legion tzeench prince with the 2+ armour relic, so he has 2+ re-rollable armour and cover save.

Not sure what boons to pick. Could go straight to toughness 8, or could go with eternal warrior, fleshbane and shred.

Any opinions or suggestions people??

Shrouded, Venomous and Eternal Warrior. Shrouded means 2+ re-rollable jink, Venomous is better than fleshbane in most instances (re-rolls to wound, you wound on 2's most of the time anyway) and eternal warrior is a given.

He doesnt need shrouded with the relic and the NLs rules as NLs give scout and the relic gives +1 cover.

Well for one, he isn't Night Lords, he is Alpha legion. For two while there are a lot of ignore cover weapons and a lot of AP 2 weapons, very few weapons have both, so shrouded means unless he is shot with a D-weapon he is almost always getting a 2+ re-rollable. And 3 neither Alpha Legion or Night Lords give scout to a Daemon Prince.

If I could pick all 3 I'd take a WE Khorne DP, take the Bezerker Glaive relic, giving Daemon Weapon, +2S, Fnp and IWND, then I would take the Shrouded, EW and the reroll armour saves boons.
Also take power armour.

The only difference now on the saves is that the Tzeentch DP can reroll an armour save of 2+ rather than 3+ if you lose the cover save (rerollable 2+ cover for both otherwise).
Since you'd be pickong EW anyway the Khorne Prince now gets FC, +2S, FnP, IWND and +d6 attacks in replacement of 2 picks at boons. Oh and costs 30pts more and can't take any MLs.

Sorry just woke up and misread, I thought he was on about the NL stormbolt plate and meant to write stealth not scout (obviously by the stealth and +1 bonus given by NLs). So your second point im entierly agreeing with anyway - if you check the first page of tactics you will see Ive actually made a thread about such a prince.

Eternal Warrior and +2 Wounds could be good. W6, 2+ rerollable armor, and Eternal Warrior is going to be really, really hard to remove from the board.

I'd actually go with their Daemon weapon instead of the Armor. I know 2+ rerollable is good, but the 3+ rerolling 1 is still okay, and you'd help considerably with the damage output.

Could always go with the Black Mace too, but that's no fun is it?

For boons, you want EW, Hatred, and FNP to give you the most bang for your buck.

If you prefer, you can also use one of the boons to give +1 to your armor save, instead of using up your relic slot.

I wss on about storm bolt plate. Had alpha legion on the brain lol. Night Lords is the one I'm after. The saving throws are covered with the relic and deamon of tzeench. It's more the offensive outout I'm trying to work on.
