So I made a thing.

It's ponies, in power armour. And artificer armour, and terminator armour, and all that. Still slightly WIP, but mostly done.

I like MLP. I like 40k. If you don't like it, that is your opinion, but I do request that you not disparage it without good reason.

Shoving MLP into 40k is extremely tacky

While my personal inclinations towards putting MLP into WH40k is that it is an odd choice, I don't mind you attempting it.

What I do find problematic is your choice of using Space Marines as the baseline you're building from, rather than modifying something like Tyranids (where more natural weapons and armor would be an easier thing to port, and where the beast type is at least more prevalent).

Edit: Looking it over, I didn't see an explanation for what the Cutie Marks do. Are they akin to Marks of Chaos? Are they explained/given rules somewhere that I just looked over?

Ah crap, I knew there was something important I was forgetting. They're chapter tactics equivalent. I'll add them in.

Edit: Added a few cutie marks. They're not that powerful, but considering everybody moves far faster than regular, I think having weaker CT equivalents is appropriate.

Any ideas for the last few would be great.

Are they army-wide (i.e. your army must all share the same Cutie Mark) or a mix-and-match approach?

If the former, you might want to include some wording to that effect.

If the latter, they'd be better balanced against Marks of Chaos, no?

I think it'd be army-wide, like Chapter Tactics. (Though, like Chapter Tactics, you can mix with an allied detachment or in different formations.)

Wording will be added... Tomorrow. It's 12:30 AM here, so I need sleep.

Thanks for taking the time to read through all this!

I love 40k. I also love World of Warcraft, night jogging, and blueberry pie.

Loving X and loving Y does not mean that they are going to blend well.

HERESY! Pie goes with everything

But for the main topic at hand...... I got nothing. I don't get the appeal of MLP and I really don't see how MLP fits into 40k.

I'm not going to even bother talking balance here, because wall o' text isn't worth reading and going through the rules when it's obviously more of a jokey fluffy thing doesn't seem worth it. So, from a fluff angle instead:

Twilight Sparkle's stats don't make sense. You're apparently using her beginning-of-the-show powerset, but in that case, many of her stats are way too high - She'd be a powerful psyker, but she's also clumsy and not all that brave. Her WS should be low, her Initiative shouldn't be that high, and her Leadership really shouldn't be very good either.
Now, if you're using post-ascension Twilight, then her stats make a bit more sense (WS5 is still questionably high, but whatever,) but in that case, she should really be ML4 and have the Jump unit type, seeing as she has wings and is literally the Princess of Magic. The third most powerful pony in Equestria, backed by ancient magics, and the one who spends the most time researching and learning about magic.

Pinkie Pie's Party Cannon should be a blast or template weapon. Possibly both. Her stat boost should also be randomized, at least somewhat. She should also be fearless, because of how nutso she is, and because in the premiere she's the only one who is completely immune to a fear check.

Applejack is boring, solid, and doesn't have much going on that's interesting, which is perfect for her character.

Why does Rainbow Dash have a Grav Cannon, and not some kind of modified large blast Vector Strike that triggers when she moves at top speed?

Rarity canonically has used camouflage, but there's never been an instance where she's 'improved' anything in more than a cosmetic way. (In fact, she often puts cosmetics over practicality!) Stealth, and a Leadership boost, are probably best.

Fluttershy should be more of a buff unit then anything, and not just in the 'Nobody attacks her' sort of way.

Everything else just seems pretty similar to the main Space Marines codex.

I'm not trying to stick to canon 100%, but I'll keep that in mind. I do like the Dash suggestions.

You're going through the trouble of making MLP crossover rules into 40k, but you're not bothering to stick to canon?
I... Uh... Okay. Sure.

as has been said: MLP + WH40k just doesn't work. I like Driving, and I like playing Warhammer, but I wouldn't play while driving.

Beyond that, some of the relics that the named ponies have are a bit OP.

Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

So you have a rule set, for MLP (if it's what you like then ok?), does that mean you hope to run an MLP marines army? Are you going to convert some marines into ponies?
