Black Legion Speartip. Emperor's Children Kakophoni. Death Guard Plague Colony. World Eaters Butcherhorde. Each is a wonderful detachment with great special rules, but it's also one-dimensional in what it does on the board.

How do you complement your primary Traitor Legion detachment? Instead of asking which Legion is the most powerful, I am wondering which Legion can serve best as a secondary CAD. When you think about the special rules for the legion, the artefacts you can take, and other factors, the kinds of shortcomings it can make up for - which one would you rather have and why? Renegades and Heretics are included as an option, along with other for those of you who don't mind Come the Apocalypse allies.

Obliterators without MoN are 60pts of 'dead to a Lascannon'. As a Nid Player, I don't play Warriors for the same reason so I'm a bit overly scared of S8+, but still. I'm not going to trust a 5++ to keep a massively expensive model safe.

My vote is for Night Lords, specifically for a CAD. Raptors with Obj Sec is a bonus that CSM can really use, and since we're talking a secondary, that's all I'd use them for. They're not potent enough for me to swap out a Death Guard or generic Renegade primary, but they are a useful tool in the box.

Alpha Legion can really help get special weapons where they need to go.

Easily Iron Warriors.

2+ Daemon Prince with 6 solo Obliterators (which have tank hunter remember)

Iron Warriors aren't bad, another option might be Alpha Legion, infiltrating inexhaustable cultists has some uses.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two
