this has been one issue that had stuck with me for the past few days what is the best way to approach this if my intention is to use the renegades as bodies for sacrifices for more heralds and greater daemons?

Well you can't use renegades as sacrifices for greater daemons since Possession sacrifices the psyker which the renegades are not.

If you want to just spam sacrifice for a bunch of heralds, you'll just have to take as many mastery levels as possible. So you should take the Herald Anarchic formation for 3-9 heralds, make them mastery Lvl 3 to get a 50% of rolling sacrifice on each herald and then stick them in a couple of blue horr or brimstone horror units near the renegade units for you to take a wound out of.

should i take a hyrda battery in case of aircraft? deep striking should not be a problem

Renegades generally ignore flyers. Not many flyers have the tools to harm hordes, most are anti tank and anti flyer. If you running unending host+summoning, who cares if you stuff dies? Don't waste points dealing with flyers, if you bring wyverns, bring wyverns for ground targets.
