Why Aye Ya Canny Dakkanaughts!

I am thinking of doing some conversions by corrupting those shiny Deathwatch models (spikes, capes, hoods, mutations, etc.). Now to start with I was only going to do the killteam boxset but then I started reading into Deathwatch armies: people seem to be having a lot of fun with them. So then I thought "what if I started a Deathwatch allied force for my chaos?"

So my heart says "Yes! Buy all the Deathwatch boxsets!", but my head says "If they don't mix well with Daemons then you'll just shelf them and have wasted £100+, just buy the kill team and do your silly conversions".

Of course these two can't agree on anything so I ask to all those out there who play Deathwatch (and Daemons as well): would they gel or would I be wasting my money on an allied detachment?

Extra question: if they do gel what kind of boxsets, formations, equipment would I want to be setting them up with?

(Disclaimer: I know they are CTA allies and Deathwatch + Daemons might seem unfluffy but I have made renegade Imperial armies work for me in the past, if I need to I can make it work here. )

I have no idea how effective they would be, but it would be an interesting way to represent Alpha legion elite operatives.

I was thinking more of reflecting the Deathwatch multi chapter feal: having a sneaky Alpha legion sniper, an Iron Warriors heavy weapons specialist, WE/NL/EC cc fanatic, maybe even a secretive fallen Angel in there, who knows? But an Alpha Legion elite will definitely be an auto include.
