I don't think I missed any limitations or rules or anything. This is my first real foray into a Terror Assault list. As I own a ton of basic Marines and drop Pods, it seemed a good way to re-use some units from my DAV list and expand my collection.

The Vigilator/Apothecary/Curze/Assault Squad unit Scout forward and are Shrouded/Stealthed and have FNP, which should make them survive a rough round of shooting, if it happens. They are the anchor unit so I don't auto-lose, but also should be in a good forward position by T2 to pounce. On T1, I can bring down the Atramentar, the Leviathan, and a Terror Squad. That is hopefully packs a punch, with a second wave of Terror Squads dropping in to help mop up. Xiphon for AA, Primaris to nuke Flare Shielded stuff, and the Leviathan to help tear up armor (especially Knights) as well and sling some Phosphex and Melta around.

Thoughts?

Looks good, kinda similar to most Terror Assault lists that I've seen. I find the 3x Terror Squads with full Volkite in a pod kinda dull, I mean it's amazingly good, but just kinda dull IMO, personally I'd do each one differently and take at least 1 infiltrating around with a CC set up.

But I see you've set it up to be able to drop 3 pods T1 so I guess that's going to stay the same.

Can a Vigilator be your compulsory HQ choice? I thought consuls couldn't.

I am loathe to spam usually, but I am not opposed to it because CHOOM is gorgeous to paint and I will try to model the squads in interesting ways.

And yes, the Vigilator does not have the "Legion Support Officer" rule, so he can be my comp HQ.

Disregard, never noticed Curze.

I think it looks good. Balanced, not over the top.

Any room for improvements? See any particular issues beyond an armor-heavy army?

If you're going after a Knight T1 with your Leviathan then it will just face its shields at it when it comes down. You might want something else long range to place on the opposing front to threaten it. But looking at your list I don't see where you can pull points for a Sicaran or anything like that.

Hmmm... probably still worth the shot. 3 BS5 Melta shots at 9" would be decent. 2/3 should hit, though it is likely all 3 will. They will definitely penetrate with the 2D6 and they will likely save at least one. If one gets through with AP1, it could do some damage. If two gets through, it could be very bad for the Knight. And they must charge me, because if I get the charge, I am going at I5 with the Torsion Crusher drill, which they can't afford. Basically, the Leviathan is a must-kill unit. And it has that lovely 4++, so the only Knight that really concerns me too much is that Atrapos with its D shot... because D.

I had considered, instead of the Atramentar, bringing a twin Grav Cortus w/ Chainfist to bolster the anti-tank. What do you think of that option?

Yes, that particular loadout is a huge threat to a knight, but the Knight itself may not be the only thing shooting/assaulting back at it. The Cortus is a decent platform too, if you're going to invest in another Dread Drop Pod.

I think actually maybe just getting more anti-tank on the Atremantar might do the trick, then you can force a knight to split its shield and you have back up chainfists to threaten it with. Maybe swap out the lightning claw guys for combi-melta+chain fists?

Dreadclaws have the Drop Pod Assault rule right?

That will hurt my heart so much... few things look as brutal as twin claw Night Lord Cataphractii. However, that is probably prudent. I could get four Combi-Meltas for the price of the two TLCs. That should be enough to pulp a Knight and it would divide the shields, which means they pick their poison. And to be real, the lists major weakness is armor, so having another shooty unit that can come in and wreck AV is probably for the best.

(5) Legion Cataphractii Terminators
Chainfist & Combi-Melta, 3x Combi-Meltas Power Axe, 1x Twin Lightning Claws
Anvillus Dreadclaw
[358]

How does that look? Should be much more versatile and fill in the weakness to armor in the list.

And yes, the Anvillus has DPA.

I would take more chain fists, 2 is good, 3 is better, considering they're not very expensive. Just drop the claws all together.

Even with Legion rules a squad of Cataphractii isn't going to outnumber any squads that it isn't just going to crumple regardless.

But... they look so cool.

I know you are right... I know it... I just don't know if I can have zero claws. It pains me to have only a single pair!

And yea man, TfM is disgusting. Really factors in to my DAV list. Assault Marines will wreck face!
