So, i'm putting together a few squads of deathwatch and a dreadnought. Iam making each of them a bit of an archetype of their parent chapter (Space Wolf with an axe, jump pack White scar etc) and was wondering if there is a Space Marine chapter known for heavily deploying dreadnought suits. I have already modelled an Iron Hands marine and the Sons of Medusa are known for deploying large amounts of vehicles, but not necesarily dreadnoughts.
Any ideas?

No Chapter is particularly know for deploying dreadnoughts afaik. Dreadnoughts are honoured veterans of a chapter that suffered mortal wounds in battle but could still be treated fast enough for them to survive and be put in a life-sustaining casket.
Obviously, that process means that no chapter is going to have more than a few dreadnoughts. The chances to get a suitable candidate for interment are just very small.

That said, of all chapters the Iron Hands and Space Wolves are probably the most associated with dreadnoughts. All chapters revere their dreadnoughts, but these 2 take it a bit farther than most.

On the flip side, the White Scars use very few Dreadnoughts.

It's very unlikely that any chapter would second one of their dreadnoughts to the Deathwatch. They're already celebrated veterans, the prestige they'd get for going doesn't really factor against what they've already earned to be worth interring anyway, and a dread is ultimately less useful for the Deathwatch's methodology.

More likely, have someone from a different chapter die gloriously Abd be interred by the Deathwatch instead.

Hmmm, if that's the case then doesn't the Deathwatch take on lone survivors of otherwise destroyed chapters?

You could fluff your Dread as the last remaining marine of a chapter that was utterly wiped out, giving you free-reign to pick a homebrew chapter if you like

I feared so much... I just wondered if there was a minor chapter with this "venerate the ancients vibe"

Fair point. I guess the idea of modelling each of the minis following each chapter stereotypes just got me wondering.

That was in fact my plan B, just wanted to check if nothing along this lines existed yet before homebrewing

This line sparked a thought, so I ran it down. Back in 4th edition, you could modify your chapter with traits, one of which was “Head the Wisdom of the Ancients” which let you take more dreads. Unfortunately, of the chapters listed in the codex, the only one which had it was Iron Hands. So not of much use in this case.

Iron hands use lot of Dreads, even the ruler council of the clans use to be composed of Dreads. The Sons of Medusa, that are succesors of the Irond Hands use many dreads too. In the rules of previous editions the Iron Hands were reflected in this way and the special character of the Sons of Medusa in the Badab war books unlock Dreads as Elites and Heavy support both.

The Emperor's Shadows, another iron hands successor, is also known for having a very high number of dreadnoughts.

I actually thought maybe the Blood Angels might if one of their dreads had succumbed to their curse. A way of allowing the warrior to die heroically, and given the secretive nature of the Death Watch, the curse wont become public knowledge.
