Been Around the Block

Greetings Dakkanauts.

To keep this query to the point, I have 10 Prospero Mk.3 marines left over and felt like I wanted to build a heavy support squad. i have also been eyeballing the new Mars Pattern Plasma Cannons to make said squad. My ultimate concern is that all of those heavy weapon kits are modelled on mk4 armour and I don't want them to look silly on mk3 guys.

I was hoping if anybody had happened to use this combination of kits could show me how theirs turned out. I've been perusing online but have not been able to see any examples of it done.

Thanks in advance.

The new legion weapon kits work great on either plastic mkiii or plastic mkiv but ocaisonally you do need to do a little work to make them fit since its resin to plastic.

If you look at the sprues, you'll notice that plasmaguns, meltaguns and heavy bolters are identical on Mk 3 and 4. And the new heavy weapon sets are desighned to fit with any mark, from 2 to 6.

The heavy bolters are not the same, but are similar. The mkiii heavy bolter doesn't have the wrist brace that wraps around the trigger hand, as the extra armour around the wrist plate doesn't fit through it. Two seconds with a hobby knife though and the problem is solved.
