Jesus H Christ, stop with the misquoting. I said her HISTORY was vile, which is true. Can you not be a liar for a while? Is that too hard?
How is any of what Hillary has done (for example voting for the Iraq war is just taking part in the democratic function of your country. It may have been a bad decision in hindsight but that doesn't change what it is) worse or more vile than sexual assault?
Any proven sexual assault? Also, lobbying to get an exemption for Sudan so we could sell them weapons we knew would be used to arm child soldiers isn't exactly great.
How does that mistake get made XD Don't they play that anthem frequently enough to know which one is the right version XD
It's pretty rare to hear it played with the actual words, so that could be part of the problem. It's a three verse song, and you usually find all three verses on sheet music I think.

It's not like the POTUS officially delegates all his authority to the VPOTUS for a week while he goes on vacation, although that might not be such a bad idea with our current occupant.
Honestly give how insane the toll of Presidency seems to be on the human body (seriously it adds 10-20 years to their photos), I think the President is someone who should rest and relax as much as can be afforded. The world won't come crashing to the ground just because Obama or Trump decided to go out and play nine holes, and they're never far from the Secret Service or their aids if there is an emergency. The leader of the free world has to look after themselves, you know?
That said, Trump shouldn't be playing or hosting anything on his own properties. Even if he doesn't in turn charge the government, it's free advertising from the podium and shouldn't be happening.
To be fair, Trump is avoiding a lot of the natural wear and tear of being president by not bothering with the reading of briefings and papers and so on that the role normally requires. He just signs stuff for a photo opp. and sends out a load of tweets. It's not exactly difficult.
We're going to follow the laws of the United States, and in following those law, we will prioritize the removal of people who have criminal records in this country. And if we remove ten criminal aliens and we end up saving as a result one or two or three or four American lives, then that is something that is magnificent because somewhere across this country today there is some young child facing some unknown danger and that danger will be eliminated because of some enforcement action that we're going the take in the coming days. And that is something we should celebrate, not criticize.
So apparently our illegal immigrant population is planning to murder 1,200,000 to 600,000 citizens (with Trump's number of 3mil criminal aliens).

Maybe not murder, but assault, rape, steal from, or otherwise harm that many? Over the course of a few years, absolutely that might happen. Just look at Europe and how violent crime has skyrocketed since they started taking all those "peaceful" refugees from the Middle East (and other places).

Well considering that illegal immigrants commit fewer crimes per capita than american citizens (other than the crime of being here and the stuff related to that), no, it's BS. And moving goal-posts doesn't make it any less BS.

I think it's rationalization. Now that Trump has demonstrated beyond any doubt that yes, he's just as awful as we were saying before the election, there's no way to justify voting for him on his actual merits. So Trump's supporters (or third-party voters who are Trump supporters in all but name) have only one justification remaining: that Clinton was so terrible that allowing Trump into power was the lesser of the two evils. It's obviously absurd, but that's the last thing they have to hide behind.

The New York Times is known to be much more aligned with the Democrats, so they are going to spin things against anything that Trump says. Makes sense, considering New York is a fairly liberal state. Likewise the one I put up is more likely to spin things in a conservative direction (being as one of their sources is Fox News). However, even the NY Times article does admit that while immigrants do commit less crime than citizens, illegals do tend to commit more crimes than legal immigrants.
Also, at least one of the sources they cited was a study that seemed to only deal with legal immigrants rather than illegal ones. Which doesn't address how much crime per capita illegals commit at all.

Okay, so while everyone can cite liberal news and opinion sites, a conservative one must be wrong. Gotcha. And as for the "echo chamber" thing, I've seen the liberal sites do that as well. I suspect it's just the nature of journalism these days. As for all the studies performed about this (and other) subjects, the results can often depend hugely on the methodology. Quite honestly, I don't take any of that stuff really seriously (even the conservative ones), as there are ways to skew data any way you want it. This is why I leave politics to the politicians. There are reasons I usually stay well away from these politics threads, not the least of which is I have a hard time putting into words what I want to say sometimes, and I suck at doing research.
Also, sometimes I just want to stir the pot and play devil's advocate so whembly doesn't have to defend the conservatives all by himself all the time.

The issue is not that it's conservative, it's that it doesn't cite sources. A credible article on something like immigrant crime rates would include the numbers, and also include citations with references to the source of the data. When an article on an obviously ideologically-biased site, liberal or conservative, makes claims like that without citing the evidence we should be extremely skeptical about it. And we should be especially skeptical when the claims contradict a more mainstream source that does include references to the original data.
Also, sometimes I just want to stir the pot and play devil's advocate so whembly doesn't have to defend the conservatives all by himself all the time.
We have a word for that kind of behavior, and it's something that is against forum rules.

I think Donald Trump, how mightily he might resist, is slowly coming to a realisation of what the President can and cannot do.
The people he surrounds himself with isn't helping, but it must slowly be dawning for him that he cannot run the country the way he has run his business.
He is learning the hard way that his previous.......cavalier.....attitude to things like laws, contracts, agreements and social conventions just isn't cutting it on the big stage.

The issue isn't conservative vs liberal, the issue is that it's an obviously slanted site giving obviously slanted figures in an obviously slanted manner citing obviously slanted sources. If you'd pulled something from Vox or an "Occupy (insert whatever is trendy today here)" style site that was similarly poorly sourced I'd have called that out too, and people have been called out for posting things from places like that.
And as for the "echo chamber" thing, I've seen the liberal sites do that as well.
Absolutely they do, no part of the spectrum is immune from the echo chamber. We may suspect that some parts are more strongly affected than others, and the fringes of both ends particularly, but everything is susceptible to it.
I suspect it's just the nature of journalism these days.

Yes, it is small potatoes. But this is a small potatoes president. This is a guy who's crows about piddly issues like saving 1,000 jobs at carrier, when the nation has to create about 150,000 jobs each month just to hold unemployment steady. Trump wants to ignore scale and play on symbolic but meaningless nonsense, then feth it, he can get hammered by the same idea.
Otherwise, you'd be advocating Trump to move out of his home.
And in to the Whitehouse, yeah. That's exactly what people are advocating. That is how it normally works, after all.
Trump is entitled to holidays like any other president, of course. And when he takes those holidays the Secret Service will need to go with him, that’s ordinary proceedings. But the Dept of Defence and all the other don’t follow Trump around, renting pieces of land wherever Trump holidays.
The reason the DoD is considering renting space in Trump tower is because Trump isn’t planning on just holidaying there, he wants to spend a large share of working days in New York. Which is ridiculous, and should be called as such.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Of course. And I meant $21 billion, not $21 million. And, of course those stories have been done, as well. But this is a very simple thing.
How are you going to guarantee that Mexico is going to pay for this wall?
They have said absolutely not, they will not pay for it.
MILLER: There's all kinds of things we can do. I'm not going to make news today by announcing what our strategy is going to be. That's one thing that's different between this president and past presidents is we don't lay out all of our cards for everybody to see.
In other words, either they have no plan and are lying through their teeth and hoping nobody notices, or they're committing to non-transparency on core fundamentals of their campaign platform on public policy.
I also liked this bit (emphasis mine).
MILLER: I'm calling into question the accuracy of the ruling. For instance, the district judge
in Seattle said that there was no indication of terrorism from these seventh countries and our country. That is a factually false statement. We know there's at least several dozen, perhaps many more than that, cases of terrorism from these countries that have happened in the United States in terms of
terroristic plots, terroristic activity, material support for terrorism, supporting terrorism overseas, all different kinds of terroristic activity that's been interdicted in the United States tracing back to these seven countries.
STEPHANOPOULOS; I would point out, your Justice Department lawyer wasn't able to provide that evidence to the court.
And then continues
But I want to move right now. We're seeing resistance and -- demonstrations across the
country right now to these new deportation actions from the ICE.
And President Trump put out a tweet this morning saying the crackdown on illegal criminals is merely the keeping of my campaign promise – gang members, drug dealers, and others are being removed.
You have got several cases where those who are not gang members, drug dealers, being removed. And a lot of the protesters right now believe that the new executive order from the president says that any undocumented immigrant is now subject to deportation. Isn't that true?
MILLER: Well, first of all, I think we should keep in mind that the president does not make the law, congress makes the law of the United States. And if you, George, or anyone else, wishes to change those laws, there's a mechanism for doing so.
Secondly, the executive order gives ICE officers the power to prevent crime before it happens by removing people who pose a threat to public safety and a threat to national security.
In other words "Don't blame us when we do things we say we're not doing, that's just the rules and how we're choosing to enforce them, you can change those rules if you want, nevermind you'd have to go through our congress that we control, beeteedubs, we're just going to call it pre-crime anyway".
