Aye, air power can break a conventional forces ability to act, but it cannot wipe them from the field, and can only disrupt nonconventional actors, not destroy them or clear them from an area.

This is all part of a show organized by Trump and Co to distract you from the fact that his approval ratings are catastrophic and the Russian connection just keeps getting uglier.

Trump only won 46% of the popular vote so even having an approval rating hovering around 40% shows that a majority of the people who voted for Trump don't disapprove of him. Trump started from a low support base and it's shrunk a bit which is telling but he started out on Election Day with a majority of the electorate rejecting him. I don't think there was ever much of a chance of Hillary voters or nonvoters being won over by anything Trump does.

While what you say is technically correct, it doesn't change the fact that his numbers are the the worst since Truman.

I am a theoretical HRC voter. Trump could win me over if he started acting presidential. Mattis was a good call. Lots of terribad own goals though.

I'm not trying to argue that Trump's approval ratings isn't historically bad, I'm trying to put them in context. Trump had low approval ratings from the beginning, there was the possibility of them not plummeting lower but I don't think there was ever much of a chance of his approval rating spiking higher.

The US and Russia need to put on a show of pushing us to the brink of WW3 so nobody loses face and everybody gets to take credit when they decide to depose Assad and replace him with Russian ally more acceptable to the international community. Then the Western media and move on to covering something else while the last of the opposition forces disband and go home or get slaughtered once the cameras are pointed elsewhere.

Actually its a win win. Get one of the generals to replace him and start a ceasfire with limited power sharing to rebels. Gain adherents. Put down other rebels and then everyone piles on ISIL. Everybody wins (well except ISIL).

There is no WWIII scenario. We win pretty much immediately or the world is no longer habitable. Thats it. Those are our choices. It's been that way since 1964. There is no way the us gets into a war where the us military doesn't destroy what it sets out to destroy. The question is, what power is willing to check that and our own check on ourselves. My hope is, The human named Donald Trump doesn't make our world uninhabitable. Baby steps, I know. But it's the best hope I have for the former reality television star at this point. I would trust Snooki or the property brothers more, but we fight with the hand we have. Our hand is a Howard Stern wannabe.

Besides, that would make the chemical weapon attacks make more sense - the president isn't actually in control, he's just a convenient puppet the Generals use to pin blame on when they do something bad to retain control. A few atrocities they can put on Bashar Al-Assad leaves them a convenient out if/when they need to actually negotiate (because obviously the president isn't ever going to be captured alive). A General takes over, gets a real deal with the reasonable rebels, aids in taking out ISIS (plus incidental other hardline resistance) and suddenly a Russian stooge can remain in control so the Russians also win and can keep their important naval base there.

Care to direct that to a poster, or just want to leave it as a typical Trump and dump? Care to actually defend the comment you made at all? It's okay if you don't, we sort of expect it, and it is the modus operendai for the right. Just want to give you an opportunity. Careful, people might read it and rebut.

Breotan, you came in, made a rather sweeping statement about how outcome Z justified your position, while flatly ignoring outcomes A-Y that are almost universally negative, and then responded with "look at all this unhinged hatred" when confronted with problems A-Y...and of course, no explanation on what made Gorsuch worth A-Y over Garland.

Not surprising. We launched 60 cruise missile and a bit over a dozen impacted. The majority were likely taken out by Russian S-300 anti missile batteries. It's not like Russia isn't going to protect their investment in Syria.

No, I don't think you have. That is the "debate". That's what's sad. Whembly, and especially Prestor Jon, have lately. They have defended their positions, as much as I disagree, but the overt Trump supporters never have. Just flybys. Just Trump dumps. Just gaks in a world of gaks. Just Tonys.

Frankly anyone could have insider help to do this sort of thing. The CIA or the Gulf states or whoever else nearby. This could explain why a gas attack of this nature would happen, tho.
