Bahahaha.

No, we won't. It will be plagued by stretch goals that have to get huge benefits from CB to even get anyone interested in the project to begin with.

I think there will be plenty of interest and we will have to wait and see because none of us can see into the future. The first day or two will paint the picture.

And stretch goals will have little to do with it. People aren't going to throw money at something they don't want to hopefully, maybe get something they do want later on.

I expect Lux to get a great response to the Kickstarter in the first few days and it'll be because people want to get these busts funded and into their hands.

If I'm wrong then that would suck for everyone involved at Luxumbra and everyone who wants to help fund those busts, what a shame that would be.

If you're right, are you going to gloat about it, Kan? And what if you're wrong, what are you going to do then?

And yet there were people with little to no interest with the Infinity RPG who threw money into the Kickstarter for the models.

There's the issue though. There's no actual way to tell for sure if it's people funding because they wanted these busts or if it's people just throwing money in for the exclusive model.
It's like the Tournament Packs. We will never know how many were sold to people just wanting the model versus how many were actually obtained for the purposes of a tournament.

And honestly, there's no real way for you or I to say in the end whether I'm wrong or right. I would be super surprised if this doesn't fund just from the number of people I've seen saying they'll put money in for the pilot, and the bust might just sit around.

Modiphius Kickstarter is a different situation isn't it? They had a pledge level which simply allowed you to buy the miniatures, you don't have to spend a penny on anything else, it's almost the same as pre ordering retail.(minus the LE issues already mentioned in the thread we should really be having this discussion in) In fact it's probable that Luxumbra will do the exact same thing, in which case what's the problem?

And here's the kicker... there is in fact easy to access information about what percentage of people solely bought those miniatures. These numbers aren't hard because of pledge managing and after market pledge sales but the Kickstarter from Modiphius clearly shows that people wanted other things that were on offer. 80 people only wanted, and only paid for the miniatures compared to 3420 people who backed the project. That's not even enough to back that project 16% of the way to funding it and it's barely over 1% of the final amount that was pledged.

So, Kan, where are all these people who only want the miniatures and can't have them without being forced to buy something else? I see a tiny percentage that only want the miniatures and none that were forced to buy something else to get them.

So at the end of Luxumbra's hopefully wonderful and fruitious kickstarter, if they do things the same way, it will be very clear whether they were funded out of spite or out of appeal.

I'm not trying to fight with you on this, mate, but you're raving about it like a crazy old conspiracy theorist and I think you just need to step back and take a breath. There's plenty of stuff to be miffed about but it's not kickstarter and it's not Luxumbra. Your flopping between arguments over these two threads and pm to the point that I'm not even sure what your upset about any more. If it's the whole limited edition issue then we pretty much all agree with you as far as I can see, it's not the best way to do things but we can have that chat sensibly where it makes sense to have it rather than dragging these guys into it.

If anyone wants to continue the discussion then I'd rather you hit me up in the Infinity N&R thread which I always check for new posts. I won't be responding here unless it's to talk about these dope busts:

Sorry to Luxumbra for completely derailing your thread.

Whoa, that post from Corvus is either hugely coincidental or someone is reading these Dakka threads closely.

You! I'm behind you.

For what it's worth, if you click through to their link at the bottom you'll see that the 32mm is also going to be available in some manner.

Those pledges are bloody naughty though! I just want two of the busts but those deals are great, I'm gona struggle to show restraint and only get what I need. The pre Valentines deal is very, very tempting.

Just so we're clear and there's no confusion, the poster made this post in the Infinity thread as well.

One of the many surprises that Luxumbra has prepared for us is an unlockable of the 32 mm exclusive version of the O-Yoroi Pilot, ideal to play using the new ITS rules where, because of the TAGLINE Effect, all Pilots have a special presence now.

So yes. There is the gaming sized model as well as the 75mm.
There is nothing whatsoever saying "We're only selling the 75mm via Kickstarter" or any such nonsense.

For the work blocked.

INFINITY COLLECTORS: THE GREAT LUXUMBRA WAGER

Luxumbra is a young company created by Angel Giraldez and David Anta (DAF), two professionals and veterans of the miniatures scene, which is like a seal of quality for this project. And their Kickstarter campaign will start the next Tuesday, February the 14th, Luxumbra: Infinity Collectors.

Infinity Collectors is an open collection of four busts and a 75mm miniature based on designs of troops and characters of Infinity, sculpted in great deal of detail and astounding quality.

Acherontia, from the Mobile Brigada Squad,

Tarik Mansuri,

a Daturazi

and a Tiger Soldier

are the chosen characters to start this bust collection, while the O-Yoroi Pilot is the first model from their 75mm miniatures range...

Here you have a sample of the pledges that you will find on this Kickstarter in partnership with Infinity:

ONLY ONE BUST?:

40$ - Choose your favorite bust.

ONLY ONE OYOROI 75mm?:

45$ - An O- Yoroi Pilot 75mm.

BUST PACK:

120$ - Take home all four busts in this essential pack.

ALL IN ONE PACK:

155$ - All busts and the O- Yoroi Pilot 75mm

Only available on Saint Valentine’s Day, the ideal pack for miniatures lovers:

VALENTINE´S DAY PACK:

150$ -A special offer, you take everything, the busts and the O-Yoroi Pilot 75mm

One of the many surprises that Luxumbra has prepared for us is an unlockable of the 32 mm exclusive version of the O-Yoroi Pilot, ideal to play using the new ITS rules where, because of the TAGLINE Effect, all Pilots have a special presence now.

Infinity Collectors, a new dimension for the Infinity Universe!

And also:

There is not a miniature for them yet on the Infinity range, but this is something you shouldn’t worry about. Corvus Belli has decided to support Luxumbra’s kickstarter providing a spectacular 32mm miniature that represents faithfully the O-Yoroi Pilot illustration. So don’t forget to back this project and get your miniature before is too late!

In the Infinity thread, there are discussions of people that WANT the bust but don't want the 32mm mini.

Accords are being struck.

To be fair, not a whole lot of people were actually saying that, and even less were actually believing it!

Anyway, how many are you in for?

I *might* be tempted by one - but then, I'm not that good of a painter, so probably not?

But still...

Not aimed at me but It was a good question so you're getting my answer too, Alph!

I only wanted two busts but I've jumped on that Valentines deal. It's over the budget I gave myself but it's too good a deal to pass up in my opinion. I'll probably end up trading/selling a couple of them off later.

And how could I not:

AJAX on 75mm.

If they match the artwork from Campaign Paradiso that could be it.... the mother of all miniature greatness...

Hmmm not sure that airbrush bundle is that good a deal it is one of the lower end models that costs £57 and 24 pots of paint.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Okay so loads of people seem to be thinking about pledging just to get the 32mm O-Yoroi. I've looked into it and I may be able to buy them and redistribute.

As far as I can tell there aren't any customs charges but I'm guessing my package will cost more to ship. Apart from that it boils down to the price of the mini, postage and packaging.

I'm doing a bit of guess work right now but it seems like I can do each one for the following, if your location isn't listed or if you want a price for more than one just ask.
UK: £15
US: £25
AU: £25

If there is some interest I'll look into it more closely and get hard prices. Thread here.

It would drive so many pledges if they did a 32mm.
