Wait, what? Why do they have so many pistols?

Seconded. I like to give 2 of them dual hand flamers. People are surprised the first time you deep strike in and drop 4 templates on their heads while they're in a ruin (so you hit all the levels). They're only S3, but with their AoF you can get Shred for a turn. Then you have a bunch of Bolt Pistol to back the flamers up.

Let it be known to all present and future Sisters of our Orders that they must fast at the High Vigils of Saint Thor, Saint Aspira, Saint Jason, Saint Orlanda, Saint Dolan and Saint Constantine of Alamar. Upon the Holy Days of Saint Gherick the Confessor, Saint Decessio and Saint Lucius of Agatha, let them meditate. Let them fast for not less than five days preceding the Most Holy Days of Our Founding Sisters, Saints Dominica, Katherine, Silvana, Mina, Lucia and Arabella. Let them observe silence for the vigils of Saint Capilene, Saint Josmane and Saint Lacena. Upon the Low Days of Saints Yamalla and Corvus the Sabines, Saint Tomasi, Saint Dufaux and most especially Saint Josina, they should both fast and maintain silence, and upon the Days of Saint Praxedes, Saint Kozak and Saint Verevya they should meditate upon martyrdom. Upon the Feast of Saint Jasone, they must fast, but may consider themselves at liberty between matins and vespers.

Probably so they can shoot the same profile twice.

Deathwatch Veterans can be kitted out to expensive pistol options (Grav, Infernus, plasma, hand flamer) and I find it really odd that they can't take just basic bolt pistols.

Cause bolt pistols with special ammunition would be awesome.

Doesn't the vindicare assassin have a pistol? He's of course the best gunslinger in 40k, he just prefers his winchester most of the times.

Pistol I think is same as rifle stats to on ammo.
Just a pistol ranged version.

I'd like to nominate a Ynnari Shadowseer with Crescendo and Disruptor Pistol.

Crescendo replaces a ranged weapon, and is effectively a Shuriken Pistol that fires as many times as the user's Attack rating. So let's say goodbye to the Hallucinogen Grenade Launcher.

Now, let's get Ancestor's Grace off on our Seer.

The end result is a BS 5 gunslinger that fires 4 Shuriken shots, and a AP 2 Fleshbane shot while being a ML 1 Psyker (so you also have the option to Psychic Shriek a trouble target should you so desire) with Fleet/Furious Charge/Hit and Run. If any unit is destroyed near 7" of this gunslinger, you get another 4 Shuriken shots and another AP 2 Fleshbane shot.

Total cost? 75 points, plus supporting elements of course. Feel free to pistol in, finish the unit off in assault then use soulburst to shoot the other unit.

The wargear item is meant to represent the pirate way of carrying a huge volume of guns and then simply discarding them when they are empty rather than try and reload. The wargear item counts as 2 splinter and 2 shuriken pistols and they may be used in any combination each turn.

Indeed - most corsairs either come with them standard or have an option to take them replacing their primary weapon. Honestly - they are the best choice for the corsairs when combined with their rules.

On top of this - you can run Void Storm Corsairs who can then take 2 MORE pistols (Blast, Fusion, Dissonance) each!

10 Void Storm plus a prescience baron all with dissonance pistols and jet packs is hugely expensive BUT... when you get to fire - here are 20 hits at S10, Ap1 vs anything with a T value...

Expensive, but pretty useful, I'd say. If in a Sky Burner's Coteries, they get rerolls to Deep Strike and only scatter d6, which would virtually guarantee being in range of your pistols, twin-linked with Prescience from the Baron, followed by the Reckless Abandon move and Jetpack move to get either behind cover or out of LoS.

SoB can have 2 6" Melta or 2 Hand Flamers with Shred once a game. They are cheap too.

Its 95pts for 5 Jump SoB with 4 Hand Flamers that Shred. For 40pts more tho you can have 4 S8 AP 1, tho it is 6" range.

IDK if this is to your liking.

I was going to say the Assassin but Dojo already said it.

I'm not sure if the Harlequin Crescendo relic replaces either weapon. I think the wording is just "May Take an Engima of the Black Library"

In theory, that would mean you could take a Harlequin Troupe Master with a Neuro Distruptor and Crescendo for 15 points who'd get 1 Fleshbane AP2 shot and 4 (IIRC) regular shuriken shots at BS5.

Pretty solid.

This can't unfortunately be done as both the Neuro Disruptor and Crescendo replace the model's ranged weapon. It's either one or the other, no doubling up. Kinda a shame, but their special ccws are all pretty nice so it's not all bad.

TECHNICALLY Creed would be the best, due to his 2 Hotshot Laspistols

But he'snly the best because he's a Cigar Chomping Mother Trucker who makes Baneblades appear from behind Lampposts and not because he has 2 Hotshot Laspistols...

Something I like to do for Space Wolves is take a Grey Hunter squad, give it 2 Plasma guns, a Plasma pistol, and give the Pack Leader double Plasma Pistols. It is expensive in points, but really fun to blast out that many Plasma shots out of a Drop Pod

Vanguard Veterans are probably the best for pistols.

Then can have Bolt with Special ammo, Grav, Plama, Inferno, hand flamer.
And the last four they can double up on.

Crazy expensive and ill advised tho.

I don't have my codex on me, but I don't remember vanguard vets getting special issue ammo, only sternguard? Correct me if I'm wrong on this though.
