Hi there everyone

I would like to add some honor guard to my army of black Templars,so i was wondering what wargear would be the best to fit them out with? how big of a unit etc. is the most effective? would it be a good idea to give them all combis and power weapons? i would just like to use a drop pod and hunt down my opponents squishier units with them. any help with this would be great.
thanks guys

5-7 in a Pod with the banner has worked in the past for me but I haven't used the unit entry in awhile.

Honor guard can’t take combis. Do you mean a command squad? Both can actually work rather well in a pod.

If you meant command squad, you are probably best off using them as a shooty squad. Apothecary and 4 special weapons.

Honor guard I think work well in small-ish numbers, 5-6. A mix of swords and axes is probably good for the power weapons. I’ve just started experimenting with the TH champion, not sue how I feel about him yet.

Agreed on the Command squad loadout. I think for Honor Guard, supposing only 5 men, maybe 2 swords and 2 axes? and the Champion with Relic blade, as he has one more attack so 2 handed don't hurt that much.

Pretty much what i was thinking myself, 2 axes 2 swords one banner and a champion in a pod and swish swish stab. thanks for the help guys. Fingers crossed for a Space marine supplement with cool units and formations for Templars some day...... unlikely but im an optimist
