Hi people. So I just stumbled on this indie gogo project displayed on BeatsofWar. Since no one started a post about it, I thought I may start one.

The details are scarce, but the game is clearly post-apocalyptic in theme (almost Fallout-like).

The gameplay details are extremely scarce, but it seems similar to Infinity (acting and reacting players).

Interesting aesthetic. And not a bad one (though sloppy paintjobs make it tough to see the quality of the underlying minis).

Just found this today as well (also through BoW). Kind of like the Brutes, actually.

Upon examining their website I found a link to a youtube video where they briefly explain the activation sequence:

Curious to see more of the rules and how they work.

Their 3d renders seem quite nice, also displaying their different head and decoration options. However, one must remember that 3D renders qualities are not always translated to the models.

Activation dynamic looks totally sweet.

I like your profile picture.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I don't think they'll succeed their indie gogo campaign. The game (up till now) seems nice and the models OK, but their goal (especially for those outside of Europe) is way to high.

Considering the fact that I live in Canada, and that 1 EU = 1,39 CAD, and the fact that only key sectors of the economy are booming (and not for everyone in these said sectors), it migh be hard for wargamers in my country to embark on such a project (except if your wallet tends to be on fire like the one of some of my friends).

Just to have a starter set I would have to 69,61 CAD$ plus shipping cost (which are not mentionned anywhere on the IGogo page).
Considering the fact that few details about the game have emerged, it's hard to say how much value you're supposed to give to a starter set.
Such a shame, considering how much I'm a big fan of Post-apocalyptic games setting.

What do you think about it guys ?

Hello everyone,

I am the lead designer of Black Earth.

Our campaign has just started and you can find it here.

You can find more information on our facebook page, our website and our official wiki.

The rulebook for the game is going to be released as an interactive pdf and is going to be available for free. We also have a One-Rule-Page which covers the basics. This is available for free from our website and you can also find it here.

We are a new company and this is our very first project going into a crowdfunding platform. Our noobness in communication is rather apparent as most of you point out. Anyhow I hope to address that problem here.

So if you have any question regarding Black Earth we are at your disposal.

Well thank you for your initiative. I do enjoy a company that tries to reach out potential customers.

It has some promise but the sculpting quality feels like mid to late 90's at best ala Demonblade/Shockforce.

I like the chunkiness of that APC and wouldn't mind having one or more in my collection.

I agree that the humanoid models do look a bit dated in terms of sculpting quality. Really no interest in those, but that APC is nice.

I think the sculpting has a certain old school-style charm, very much like offerings from Ramshackle games (hmmm...come to think of it, if the scale is close those two brands might look good together!).

The chunkier aesthetic is what I'm drawn to and what led to my pledge (full disclosure). I think there's a large segment of the miniature collecting world that agrees not everything has to be Corvus Belli or GW approved. The IFV and Hulk are simply marvelous and would blend right in with Anvil, Mad Robot and Puppet's miniatures. I would say all the figures compare to Anvil rather than Demonblade which were barely three dimensional...but I still loved 'em.

The way the pledges are set up you can go through it à la carte and not commit to the game system at all. Like the IFV...get the IFV, in that case is there a need to debate the game system or the overall cost of a starter set if you're model collecting?
