So I was just checking out some stuff on the AoS app and none of the Stormcast Extremis formations are available anymore. I wonder if this means they are getting an updated book or something else is happening.

..Yes? This was confirmed a while ago that Stormcast are getting a combined battletome with a ton of updated formations and rules.

Lets hope if you bought the old books on the apps you keep them and they do not update them out of it.

They're already unavailable, they might let you keep whatever formations that carry over but almost everything from the old book is going to be outdated and unusable come saturday. especially with several battalions seemingly getting the axe.

GW updated the apps people BOUGHT with real money, the update removed formations from the books. So your book had content removed after you bought it without consent?

Holy crap that is a whole new action Apple can take. ( no no we updated your old device to stop working because there is a new one).

The fact that it's on an app doesn't change anything, when a new book comes out whatever doesn't carry over gets invalidated and the new stuff replaces it.

People BOUGHT the 8th ed Dark Elves army book for whfb with real money too and those sure as heck got removed without consent.

That said, who knows; maybe the battalions are just getting reformatted. We won't know 100% for sure until saturday.

So GW came into their houses and took away the book? There is a difference between literally 'deleted content' and 'not up-to-date content'. Because I'm pretty much 100% sure you can still play WHFB with the old army books.

I would recommend getting in touch with Customer Services, I am sure they would be happy to send you PDFs of the out-of-date battalions any of you have purchased. They're really good.
