I played WHFB since 1984 and have a rather large collection (as you can imagine) of square based figures. WIth the coming of the end times, I quit playing Warhammer and started playing KoW. At that point I realised just how poor the WHFB rules had become. Games taking hours and being dull beyond belief. KoW changed rank and file for me to a fast paced great balanced game.

When AoS hit, I was also put off by those awful looking Stormcast Eternals. All they did is remind me of some awful 1970's Dr Who episode called Robots of Death. I had nothing against the plate armour with pseudo spacemarine shoulderpads, it was those awful emotionless dreary masked faces.

However, I see on GW's webpage, there's now a model like this;

Now, if I could build an army with decent looking human heads, I may be interested in starting a small AoS force.

Do GW sell these models now with sprues of heads, or are they available for sale?

Thanks.

Currently most played: Silent Death, Mars Code Aurora, Battletech, Warcrow and Infinity.

The new Vanguard kits seem to come at least with some bare heads. Older kits don't have them. But what's stopping you from sticking heads from other human kits on Stormcasts if you like the bare-headed look?

Mainly because I'd need heads scaled for Stormcast. 28mm replacement heads I've found are way too small for GWs increasing scale. Nor did I really want to buy an expensive GW kit to just use the heads for another highly expensive kit. I was hoping GW had started putting them in with newer Stormcasts. :-(
If there had been human heads as alternatives on the Stormcast sprues, I'd have tried AoS when it was released.

What style of heads would you want? There are countless third party manufacturers that make heads compatible with GW products (any heads meant for Space Marines are probably fine.) And of course you can buy actual GW heads from bit sellers.

I have built a small Stormcast force for Gangfight and Song of Blades/Heroes skirmish games using Space Marine heads. There are several either with no obvious tech bits, or ones that are easy to remove. Really changes how they look!

I don't like the "dull faces" as well. So I have tried to just paint them as faces with a helmet and no mask. It works. So you don't have to paint the "mask" part gold or what ever colour as the helmet.

Unless you want no helmets at all then you can try that.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?
