So, I had a problem this weekend that I'm guessing others might have experienced or will experience at some point. I figured out a solution that worked well and figured it was worth sharing.

I was basing up some painted and dipped 15mm Russian infantry for Flames of War, which I had spent quite a bit of time painting. When I superglued them to their bases, I guess I must have used a bit too much or didn't have enough ventilation, because on several of the models got a "frosting" effect from the superglue on their legs, with some getting the frosting all the way up to their lower torsos. Needless to say, I was horrified and was afraid the paint job was ruined. I waited for the glue to dry and hit the miniatures with some brown Kel's Magic Sauce (basically a thin brown wash) on the areas that had gotten frosted. Thank goodness, that seemed to do the trick. After the wash was dry, the frosting was gone and the paint job went back to the way it was supposed to be.

So long story short, if you ever get some superglue frosting effect on miniatures you have already painted, wait for the glue to dry and hit them with a thin wash or ink that matches the color of the miniature, and that should fix things up.

Usually the dusting from superglue actually wipes right off with a wet brush. A lot of times I use a drybrush, as the stiffer bristles do the trick best.

Good to know! I might have to try that next time if I don't have a proper colored wash to go on the miniature.

Were you sticking down 5 guys onto a base at a time or in quick succession? I assume so.
You'd be better sticking one guy per base leaving them to dry properly then putting the second guy on the first Base, production line style.
That should help with the build up of fumes in any given area.

A coat of lahmian medium also does the trick. :-)

Bye bye Dakkadakka, happy hobbying! I really enjoyed my time on here. Opinions were always my own :-)

I was doing 4 at a time on one base, so I think that was probably part of the problem. I do almost everything else assembly line style, so I suppose I'll try just gluing one guy per base at a time next time.
