Basic idea is to have a solid core of boys and nobs in their transports, with the kannons providing support (big mek goes with traktor kannons to protect them from alpha strike with his force field)
Bikers with the warboss and painboy to be a scary unit that my opponent will focus a lot of attention on (and can potentially deal some combat damage) and finally the dakkajet for a bit more firepower. Thoughts?

Hi, I like the concept of your list, just some suggestions in order to improve it.

First of all, the big mek. His 5+ invuln is wasted if its purpose is to save the mek gunz which are already tough against shooting and a 5+ invuln doesn't add anything, they should also get a 5+ cover typically. I'd cut the big mek completely, or maybe put him on a bike in order to give his invuln to trukks and bikes, that would make more sense.

Traktor kannons are situational, I like them but three are probably too many. You also have another heavy support slot available so I'd suggest to take two single traktor kannons, each one with an ammo runt or maybe keep a single traktor kannon and add a min unit of lootas.

Boss pole on a biker nob or warboss is mandatory.

Then I'd suggest to keep the trukk boyz as cheap as possbile, so take unit of 10 instead of 12, and if you find a way to stick a forth one it would be better.

About meganobz, I love them, but for min units a battlewagon is a waste of points, trukks serve the same role but better as they're cheaper and faster, so give them trukks. Alternatively you can take a single unit of 5 meganobz on a battlewagon.

With the spared points you can add another 1-2 trukks, a unit of trukk boyz, and maybe a tankbustas squad.

Thanks for the feedback on the traktor kannons, ive never used them before so I'm not really sure how to play them. I was going to run lootas but i decided a mini unit of 5 probably wasnt quite worth it, if i can squeeze in 7 maybe ill take them. As for the battlewagons, do you not think the firepower addition of the kannons makes them worth running, or is a rokkit on trukks just the same?

BS2 is not your best friend in shooting and also you would probably want your vehicle to turbo boost in order to put your units closer to the enemy, so BWs are better with a single 5 points weapon, typically a rokkit, and a ram. Their bonus is the better AV and the bigger capacity, but their cost is too high for what they offer, so min units of meganobz may not worth the big vehicle.



Lootas in min units are not bad, they don't fire a lot of shots but bigger units are not more resilient, if you have 7-10 you can lose the entire squad with an average turn of shooting, as well as having 5. If you run a min unit there are also high chances that the opponent would ignore them, but they can still be rewarding even in such a small numbers.

Yeah definitely get rid of the Battlewagons, imo traktor kannons too. Some single deffkoptas or 3 man units of bikes would work well in this list I feel.

Where are your tankbustas? Definitely the best unit for orks in the current game. A min squad of 5 with 2 bomb squigs and a trukk with a reinforced ram is 110 pts. Run 2 and you have anti MC and anti vehicle. Also, they are a great distraction, since most players don't want a trukk running around shooting s8 ap3 rokkits at their expensive stuff. Bomb squigs are worth it as well, since you have 2 s8 18" always hit on 2+ one use shots that could definitely put a dent in anyone's day. I am running two units to attempt to deal with some thunderwolves one of the other players at my game store uses.

Don't forget to eat your Khorne Flakes every morning! It is psychotically good!

I disagree with the above comment. Broxigar is right to the extent that Tankbustas are very, good however I find they usually get killed early on. I understand that that means your opponent wasn't shooting at something more important, but personally Deffkoptas fulfil the role of distraction much better, at a third of the points cost. They can also eat overwatch for your expensive units and zoom onto objectives as and when you need them. Either would fit your list though, and be a worthwhile addition.

I love min units of tankbustas too, and they're great, but best orks units are bikes, meganobz, warboss and lobbas without any doubt.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I've done some tinkering and come to 2 list variations, one with meganobz in battlewagon x2, one with tankbustas in trukk x2. Im leaning towards tankbustas as i can also afford another unit of boys and several more bikes.

You could run a double CAD instead of a horde, drop the wagons for trukks, and dump a couple of the extra grots or downgrade the tracktor kannons to lobbas. Then you could afford 2x tankbustas in trukks, have the spots for them, keep the 2x MANz, and give all your troops obsec.

I guess you'd need another troop choice.. I'd drop the dakkajet for another unit of trukk boyz personally. Gives you that magic 8 number for trukks in 1850.
