Hiya my war gaming butties!

I'm thinking of maybe asking for a FW Necron model for either Christmas or my birthday as I've never had a FW model before, but I'm wondering if they are effective or just "cool"?

I've been looking at their stats and rules, and honestly I'm just wondering what people's opinion on them are, but, mostly from a casual/FLGS tournament type of setting, as I won't be taking part in any official tournament or FLGS tournament with a model/cash prize, as I'm not as super competitive as I was back in the day.

So, whats the score on the doors for FW Necrons?

Death Ray Pylons are still cool. Avoid anything else, really.

Canoptek Acanthrites are not bad at all. But yeah most of it is decidedly meh except for the Death Ray Pylon (and the Acanthrites)

Yeah, the Acanthrites look pretty good, essentially Wraiths with much more effective firepower and just as good CC ability. Definitely high on the list to get.

I really like the look of the Canoptek Tomb Stalker, not only for its "OMFGWTFKILLITWITHFIREBQQ" looks, but it's stats seem pretty decent for a monstrous creature. The Death Ray pylon stats are absolute hilarity too.

The tomb worms are great if they get to combat but they struggle to do so because they lack RP and are as slow as a Carnifex. The shooty version is marginally better. Mobility is just a struggle and durability isn't enough to compensate

^^ from a competitive standpoint. I've owned and used both and they are a ton of fun for casual games.

Ah, excellent! I was hoping they were lots of fun in casual games, just what I was looking for! I'll just deep strike them for the look of sheer horror on my opponents face as I pop it up next to one of his squads for epic lolz.
