So I've been contemplating to start a small Necron army. Around 1000 to 1500 Pts. Mostly cause because I like the whole Royal Court idea.
Now the problem is I have no clue what to do with them. I don't really like the black with green highlights on vehicles and such. So I'm kinda looking for inspiration for these metal men be it colour scheme or theme. Any Dakkites got an idea?

Poor ignorant guardsmen, it be but one of many of the great miracles of the Emperor! The Emperor is magic, like Harry Potter, but more magic! A most real and true SPACE WIZARD! And for the last time... I'm not a space plumber.

What color is the rest of your collection?
unless you particularly like one specific color (like i like yellow and half my stuff is yellow) then you could pick a color you haven't used yet.
i dont see much orange in your gallery

Honestly, it's entirely up to you.
I'm a big fan of silver/black/green so the "poster boy" Necron colour is what I'm using, but painting them like Warhammer tomb king colours works really well too.
A wildcard is to paint them a deep metallic red, contrasts very well against the Green rods and green highlights. Another is a bronze colour with the rods RE painted plasma blue for effect. Lastly, a really super shiny silver (Like the T-800 terminator) with a purple highlight on the guns.
But, whatever you choose, I'm sure it's gonna be awesome!

My Tzaangor gotten quite a bit of orange in it. I have a thing for red, but I've done so much with it I've wanted something else. For the rest I'm okay with most things, just not pink.

why not something totally radical like pure alclad chrome/gold/chameleon out of an airbrush.
otherwise a practice in super weathering with rust might be cool too.
also im partial to bone white look.

When I was doing my son's Ghost Ark he wanted a particular colour/style so I kinda came up with this:
iirc was balthzar gold with brass scorpion basically
They do look really good in a kinda bronze/brass colour
An interesting variation I've seen on necrons especially the Doomscythe is black and green, but reversed. Where your crack areas are black and the majority of the model is green.
Pretty much any colour works, but you'll be wanting to think about how you're going to do your warriors. Even at that points you're likely to have a good few of them, enough that you don't want to get too involved Well, I didn't. I tend to think they're boring. My son wanted a more blue theme, so I ended up doing the pretty standard "metal" look, but with some blue highlights and I swapped out their green plastic rifle bit for a blue instead.

I've always wanted to do Necrons in a Warplock Bronze base with Runelord Brass drybrushed highlights. I think it'd look awesome unfortunately it's exactly the colour scheme I picked for my Dark Eldar so I'll have to find something else!
Would work really nicely with a glowy green though...
The other option I really liked was painting them like chipped and weathered ceramic-coated steel

Through a few different paint schemes I've had over the years for my 'Crons, this one I settled on after a while. It's bone on the bulkier parts, and on the majority of the panels on vehicles, but the bones, joints, and recessed pieces are all done with Vallejo Gunmetal Blue. I was inspired to the scheme from a region in Dungeons and Dragons Online, actually, where they had these big light sandstone pyramids with dark blue recesses running along them.
