Hello All,

My Space Hulk, 'Storming Horus Battlebarge' game painting continues apace, Rogal is Done,

http://s183.photobucket.com/user/byjohn54/media/Rogal%20Dorn/Rogal%20Dorn_zpsngvaz4h6.mp4.html?sort=3&o=0

but I need some 'nerd-help'

I'm about to model the Number one himself, The Emperor, Now, I have a great figure from Kabuki to use, (minus the eagle!)

http://www.kabuki-studio.com/knights-of-legend/209-celestial-knight.html

Buuuuuuut, according to canon, is the Emperor a physically large man? this figure is Primarch sized, but was Empy-boy? I read some made-up Wiki that said he was a normal, (well 40K normal) sized chap?

Was he? should I use a Terminator sized geezer? or chop this figure down a bit, easily done, he has VERY long thighs!, or, just say, its my toy soldiers, sod it, I just use the nice Kabuki figure?

Any thoughts, or help gratefully recieved

Thanks in advance

John

There's that famous picture of The Emperor and Horus facing off on the bridge of Horus' battle barge. In that picture Horus is way bigger than The Emperor, but he's way bigger than Sanguinius as well. The Emperor looks about the same size as Sanguinius.

I wouldn't judge everything off of that one picture though.

I think the interpretation of that picture is a bit wonky anyway, due to the perspective and the different planes where each figure is standing.

As for the OP, the Emperor's appearance is suggested to be, well... shifty. When he needs to be overly impressive, I believe his appearance can dwarf a Primarch. When dealing with one of his sons, I'd imagine he stick to Primarch size. If need be, I believe he could be human-sized.

But for battle, I think Primarch-size is fine. There's only so big you can get as a commander before you start making yourself too easy and too juicy a target.

My understanding is that he looked pretty "normal". Tall, but not genetically enhanced tall. Most of the primarchs are probably quite a bit larger than he is.

His appearance changes depending on the viewer and what role he's playing at the time. He can look like anything from a thoroughly ordinary man to a god, enveloped in sun-like radiance.

For your purposes, though, primarch sized would be fine.

Given the level of his psychic ability, truth is we don't know. He looked vastly different depending on who was looking at him and it's strongly implied he can change that perception when he feels like it.
