List 1 for sure.

Belakor unfortunately isn't very good for his cost right now. You don't have much in the way of charges to support all his powers and with all the ignores cover (tau missiles...) he is a sitting duck in many match ups. I love him but stick with KDK's strengths.

I would say I prefer list 1 over list 2, but Im wondering if the warpswords are really worth their points, the points could be used to upgrade the cultist into bloodletter, I would say that would upgrade the efficiency quite a bit

I would actually cut the grinders and take the demons 3 grinder formation. Its got better rules.

I just didnt feel like it was worth losing Blood for the Blood God on 3 very killy units. Otherwise i do love that 3 grinder formation from chaos daemons expansion.

Also to the other poster. I didnt put bloodletters in my list on purpose. I want characters that can potentially become daemon prince/bloodthristers. Sadly daemons can't be upgraded with blood tithe.

Well, the swords need to still go. They might give you an extra attack, but if you want to use the Master-crafted effect, you will be swinging with ST6 (7on charge) AP3 weapon instead of the ST10 AP2.

the sword gives you an extra attack at S10 AP2. It's a specialist weapon so on the charge you can output 6 attacks even more if you use tithe bonuses

Is there a reason you're using a CAD instead of a Blood Host Detatchment?

Yes we know what the sword does. It's still not worth the steep 25 point cost. Soul Grinders are still a vehicle so still have the fragility of potentially being immobilized or exploded. Investing more points in something that can be neutralized in a single shot is bad idea especially when you are doing it for such a mediocre bonus of a single extra attack

Yep you basically got the full response thank you for saving me the write up lol

As for the 25 pts for warpswords i find that it comes in handy when i have a gakky WS3 and need to make my attacks count against chapter master smashface. The more S10 AP2 i can hit him with the better.

I do think it's a steep investment with little pay off and a lot of risk. But i mitigate that risk by bringing several priority targets, with *luck* anything can happen in this game, I can fail a 2+ with a 2+ fnp if luck dictates that i will only roll 1s for some reason. The odds of most weapons penetrating a soul grinder are quite low. AV13 with a 5++ is enough protection as is not to mention all the hull points. If my opponent gets a lucky shot in, well then I have to accept that luck is simply part of the game.

More often than not however I reap the full benefit of that 25 pt investment. Specially when i toss it against smashface and his command squad that love their T5 with a 3+ fnp and the chapter master with a 2+ fnp. Denying them that is always worth it in assault.

If you use the Master-Crafted effect from the sword, you are only swinging at ST6/7 AP3 since that is an ability that is only for that profile for that weapon.

If you intend to only use the ST10 AP2 Claw, you just paid 25 points for an extra single attack with no re-roll.

Again why are we still discussing this extra attack, i clearly WANT the extra attack. The thread isn't 'hey is 25 pts for a S10 AP2 attack worth it?'

Can we move on from that please? Thank you.
