Fingers crossed for Dark Eldar and Eldar. I'd love to see better Grotesques or not Finecast Incubi and Plastic Aspect Warriors.
|
H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa

But, new Ork stuff, Eldar/Dark Eldar and new Imperial Guard would be cool. And more realistic.

What I hope for the most would be plastic Sisters and at least one new regiment of plastic Guardsmen.
Plastic Aspect Warriors would be cool. Some new CSM Havocs would be nice.
I'm not sure about the Tyranids. I think they look pretty cool now, but maybe they'll come out with a new line that just looks amazing.

I hate to sound so disparaging but honestly I think Orks are going to get another new release model and some new casts of older units, hopefully buggies will get a face lift. They will probably get another new flyer with AV10 all around and a gimmicky weapon that doesn't work and will be over priced by 50-100pts.
SMs will get another new release model and updates to scouts maybe?
DE and Sisters can wait another edition or 5 is my best guess

Do you think they will keep the old skin Cadian models or stop making those for a new line? DKOK, Catachan, ASL etc...?
Will we ever see true scale models?
New Guard rules maybe? New SM rules maybe? New Ork rules or Nid rules?

I wouldn't mind if they retired the old Cadian and Catachan kits from their posterboy status and brought in a new "generic" gothic-future-military regiment. Perhaps something based on these old Jes Goodwin sketches.
I know everyone wants some of the classic regiments in plastic, but in my opinion none of them are really suitable as poster boys the way Cadians are. There's also a lot of third-party resources for folks who want to build them, so it would probably be better for GW to focus on making something more unique.

GW has finally heard the outcry and has given into peer pressure. They're gonna announce a new upgrade kit for Tyranids that'll allow them to wear pants. You get 2 choices regular cut or skinny jeans. I prefer skinny.

Of the armies I collect, I really feel like most of the CSM infantry and heroes are in serious need of a resculpt.
I'm currently painting some Chaos marines and Ioathe the way the trim on the boots melts away into nothing and how the straps on the front pieces of the breastplate don't match up with the back.
Smallbaddon deserves to get a sculpt worthy of his title and I would kill for a "build your own warlord" kit containing every possible option including jump packs and mounts.

I hope the DE get some better rules and lose the finecast, but most of their model range still looks great.
CSMs could do with some resculpting, and actual models for things like Chosen.
I think everyone knows the army in most dire need is Sisters though...

Sisters absolutely need a new line more than any range that GW has out right now, period. That said, they'll probably still leave them out to dry. It's getting to the point where I wish they'd actually just make a point of formally squatting them so I can stop hoping and move on.

A revamp of their rules to make them less of a joke, and one or two kits would go a long way towards making players love the company again.

Given his reaction in Gathering Storm 3, he had to suck it up and accept being treated as a religious figure because of the power of the Ecclesiarchy.

RG could have have done it earlier but I think he will be pragmatic enough to spend time reorganising the military elements before looking at the relgious - also there is the issue that those who do worship Him also recieve belssings - he has fought alongside St Celestine and seen it for himself, he saw that on Terra she was -
Scarcely less adored by the crowds than Guiliman himself
. We don't know what he saw in the Throne room only that he had received all the enlightement that he required
- which could be taken several ways

I am fairly confident that SoB will finally be updated thanks to Celestine new model. As for their fluff, people frequently forget that the Emperor founded the Adeptus Sororitas as we know it. Alicia and her companions where all allowed to meet the Emperor and received enlightement from him. We don't know what they heard or saw, but we know what they did after and it implies a lot of crusading and restoration of faith. The Emperor seems to approve strongly the Ecclesiarchy. Sisters are making small miracles left and right wich seems to imply a lot of support from the Emperor. He wasn't an atheist because he thought atheism was right. He knew it was false. He used it as a weapon against the Gods of Chaos. Now, he changed weapons since their existence has become undeniable. It's faith in Order vs faith in Chaos.
For new release, it would be logical for Chaos Space Marines to receive a rejuvenat treatment. There is no modern Chosen, Nurgle, Khorn and Slaanesh models. Their basic units are oldies and have few options (but still look ok). The obliterator and mutilator are finecast and pretty ugly. There is a lot of work to do there. In fact, GW would do well in focusing in remaking old units and finishing the phasing out of finecast than producing new units. I think they would still make a lot of sales with them. A little new faction of Custodes Marines, a 8th eddition that favorise a more granular approach to games (integration of kill team in the main rules) and rebalance vehicles. Add to that one or two new faction for Age of Sigmar and they will make decent enough profite for the next year and be in good position for another couple of one's.

I still think most of the ork kits look really good. Of course, maybe when they come out with a new kit it will look so much better that I'll hide all my old orks in the closet.
The warbuggy/wartrakk are really old and need updated. It could be nice to see them come out with a few new kits or upgrade packs that give more variety or new units, but I think the basic sculpts still look good.

Where are you getting that rubbish?
The Emperor had the Sisters of Silence, which was a force of Pariahs
The Adeptus Sistoritas is a separate thing, created by the church to serve as a standing army created shortly before the Age of Apostasy

... uh "sistoritas"...? If you mean the Adepta Sororitas, no, they weren't actually formed by the church. They were a privately formed order of warrior-nuns who were raised up by Goge Vandire to be his bodyguards, and then afterwards kept around by the church after their founder killed him for his tyranny, because they were too immensely useful and capable to do otherwise.

Yeah you get what I meant..
But Vandire was the head of the Ecclesiarchy and their representative High Lord, So I would still count that as being created by the church

By that definition, they were also created by the administratum, as he was the Master of the Administratum before he became ecclesiarch. Claiming they were "created" by the church is a vast oversimplification.

In the end duder raised a army of very pious women, who was not the Emperor, He then abused his position which in itself cause a civic war within the Imperium, he was killed, but his forces where actually truly loyal to the Emperor and the Imperium as a whole so were kept around. But main point.. the SoB were not raised by the Emperor and the Emperor was not a fan of religion as a whole
