Subject: Collecting Tzeentch - Have some questions

Hey everyone, I was thinking of getting into the Tzeentch Arcanites and was wandering:
1) Is the army as fun to play as it seems? I've come from a history of fighting mostly Stormcast with Khorne Bloodbound, which is hardly fun haha.
2) Are the Kairic Acolytes good? I like their figs and want to get some anyway, just want to know if they're worth putting in an army.
3) Are all flavoures of Tzaangor good? One of the formations I was considering using includes a unit of Tzaangor Enlightened.
4) Are the miniatures hard to paint? After painting a lot of detailed trim work on Khorne figures, I'd love an army that was slightly more relaxing to paint haha.
5) Are the Tzeentch Arcanites alone good, or do you need help from the daemon side of things to make them affective? I prefer the look of the Acolytes and Tzaangors over the Pink Horrors and such. Though the Lord of Change is gloriously majestic.
Cheers all

1.) Depends. Tzeentch is squishier than Khorne by a noticeable margin, but does have some rather nice punching power. What's your preferred playstyle? Tzeentch has some decent melee and rather good shooting, so both should be supported.
If you like magic, get a Lord of Change. They are downright oppressive when it comes to magic.
2.) Kairic Acolytes are...really expensive points wise. For 40 more points, you can get Tzaangors who actually have twice as many wounds, a better save, and the same damage (more or less)
Acolytes are really good at harassing wizards, and make a decent back burner unit to hold an objective or grab an uncontested one. Don't expect them to be MVP ever, and you won't be dissatisfied.
3.) All of the flavors are fairly strong jn their own right. Pick what looks cool.
4.) Some minatures are super easy - Brimstone horrors take reverse time to paint.
Others, like Tzaangors are a little more involved, but none are bad or hard to paint.
5.) I've basically been running Tzeentch Arcanites with some success. Tzaangors are really good, and make for a cool looking army.

Hey, thanks for the reply.
I was looking through the battletome and found a formation called the Witchfire Coven, allowing the Acolytes to shoot twice basically. Does that make a couple of squads of 20 decent shooting units? Or is it worth cutting down on them and putting more Tzaanbros into the force?

They're probably a decent weight of fire unit at that point

Okay sweet. I really like the figs so I'd like a heap of them haha. It also adds a good portion of humans to an otherwise monstrous army

Right? The models are easy to build as well. All the weapons/hands attach the exact same, so no muss or fuss over the right parts, but plenty of options.

Ah perfect. Always good when a mass of figs can be built easily and quickly
