So, me and a couple om mates have decided to start playing 40k. A couple of guys have some experience with 40k from way back but most of us are newbies. So we are quite clueless when it comes to power levels of our armies and such, but I´m sure it will pan out during the coming year. I have still not played my first game yet, but are thinking about lists to play.
So what do you guys think? I know that I should be playing with wraiths, but I really dont like the models, and I dont want to bring out all the cheese from the start
Flayed Ones are better in units of 20. Most people wouldn't field them unless they have 20.
I dont think the Judicator Battalion is a hood choice as you get 2x5 Praetorians which makes them easy to destroy due to their low numbers.
Also Catacomb isn't worth the points. I know it makes your O lord faster and feel like a pimp but it usually draws your opponents attention and ends up being destroyed turn 1-2. Imho.
If you dont like the wraiths model you could just proxy something in for so you can use it but not have to look at the real model. Just make sure your proxy has the same base as the wraiths.
Original list
Spoiler:
Decurion
Core
Immortals: Gauss Blaster, 5x Immortal
Immortals: Gauss Blaster, 5x Immortal
Overlord: Artefact: The Veil of Darkness, Phase Shifter, Resurrection Orb, Voidblade
This way all your units move fast so you can have good board control, get objectives, back up units that are under fire etc.
Put the lord with the Flayed Ones, infiltrate the whole unit Turn 1 then use the Veil later on in the game (to keep the unit alive, get an objective, help another unit out, line breaker etc) when something comes up that needs your HQ and friends.
With 15pts left over you could give the O lord the Phylactery to give him "it will not die" rule to make him survive much longer
Edited List
Spoiler:
Decurion
Core
Immortals: Gauss Blaster, 10x Immortals
Overlord: Artefact: The Veil of Darkness, Phase Shifter, Staff of Light
Put the Overlord with the immortals and use the Veil of Darkness to Deepstrike them.
Either Deepstrike or Infriltrate the Flayed Ones
Extra tomb blades gives you more shooty power and better chance at getting objectives due to the units size and speed
Warriors in ghost ark will destroy nearly every infantry unit in the game. You can Move Flat Out/Jink the Ark to have it snapfire on 6s while the Warriors inside can shoot as normal as they are not affected by the Ark jinking or moving its full 18 inches. 2 does a lot of damage.

Minor point on Odrankt's tip to run his list: The Overlord can not join the Flayed Ones when they Infiltrate. That trick has been FAQ'ed out of the game.
Something to think about when you do get on the Wraith train:
I just read the recent FAQ and saw nothing that say the O lord cant infiltrate with the Flayed One. Also Infiltrate works that if 1 model as infiltrate then the whole unit infiltrates so if I put the O Lord with the FO then he should be able to Infiltrate with them.... So I would assume they still can??? Could you send a link to the FAQ you read just incase I am wrong so I can update my above tactics?
