I now have a small army of wolves, and i want to play some casual games with start collecting models. What do you think about this?

The Wolves Unleashed Detachment

HQ

Harald Deathwolf, Lord of the Wolfkin [195pts]: Warlord

Iron Priest [145pts]: Bolt Pistol, Cyberwolf, Tempest Hammer, Thunderwolf

Troops

Blood Claws [95pts]: Rhino, 5x Bolt Pistol, 5x Chainsword

Blood Claws [95pts]: Rhino, 5x Bolt Pistol, 5x Chainsword

Fast Attack

Thunderwolf Cavalry [220pts]: Thunderwolf with Pair of Wolf Claws, Thunderwolf with Power Fist and Storm Shield, Pack Leader with Power Maul and Storm Shield

Total: 750 pts.

Space Marines (Astral Claws) - 5800 pts.
Astra Militarum (Badab Auxilia) - 1000 pts.

Looks like a fun list, I could see this being pretty successful at 750 points.

My personal opinion would be to drop the iron priest, and take something with more range support for your TAC squads.

Rhinos have fire points, which means you could add a heavy weapon to each of your TAC squads, which could be fired without snap firing if the Rhino moves at combat speed.

For instance, if you were to add 2 heavy - 1 with a grav cannon and a grav amp, and the other with a multi-melta, you'd have a pretty solid answer to most things.

You're definitely a charge right at them kind of list, but it would be very helpful to have something with range for when you encounter faster squads.

If you have a dreadnought, you might try experimenting with that as well. They're not great overall, but in low point casual games, a dreadnought can be really tough for some armies to handle.

Space wolves don't have access to grav-weapons and Blood Claws has crappy BS3.
But instead of grav we have face-smashing thunderwolf cavalry. With powerfist they has a four S10, AP2 attacks. And by the by thunderwolves has Rending USR...

Whoops, you're right. Not sure what I was thinking.

In any case, it's a fun looking list. TWC are very strong, there's no disputing that. I would just be wary of having no range weaponry at all, especially when you've got Rhinos with fire points. Or take a rune priest and cast witchfires out of the rhino. Just my 2c.

The bloodclaws are not going to see much action inside a Rhino, with no special weapons, BS3, and packed into a non-assault vehicle. I suggest dropping some upgrades and downgrading characters to get you 2 5-man grey hunter squads with special weapons instead, which makes them a much more consistent threat, you can get spare points by doing the following:
- Drop the TWC power maul
- Downgrade Herald to a generic Wolf Guard battle leader on thunderwolf
- Drop the Iron Priest's tempest hammer

You now have more points to play around to bulk up your troops

I'd use the Deathpack formation from the Start Collecting: Space Wolves! box.
1 Wolf Lord
1 TWC unit
1 Grey Hunters unit

Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf with Runic Armour and Pair of Wolf Claws.
4x TWC 4 Storm Shields, 2 Thunder Hammers, one Power Axe, one single Wolf Claw on the leader for challenges.
10 Grey Hunters with CC weapons, Wolf Standard, Melta and Rhino.
750 points on the dot.
For Glory, For Russ!: The Wolf Lord and any units from his Deathpack that are within 12" of him at the start of the shooting phase can either shoot and re-roll to hit rolls of 1 orRun and still be able to charge. Different units can choose different options.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.
