I've seen some laser cut wood companies that make racks for holding all of your paints, but can't think of who they were now. Looking to get something set up for my new painting area when I move. Does anyone know of any good paint racks to check out? Preferably something modular that can hold vallejo/army painter bottles plus GW sized pots and some spots for brushes and tools would be great.

Gamecraft is the company I keep running into. They make different modules for GW and Vallejo, or mixed modules that can store both. I was thinking about buying one of their painting stations but I bought the Testors carousel storage because it was cheaper.

+1 for the nail polish display racks. Far cheaper/easier to assemble/use than the mdf stuff (I have a big MDF rack and several nail polish display stands).

didn't think of makeup racks.. those might work. I just decided to invest in the great big Army Painter complete set since a lot of my paints are getting old and crusty.. may as well start fresh. Now I need a rack to store 124(!) bottles, plus other things I can't live without like liquid greenstuff

Makeup racks work great. I don't like the precut holes because Army Painter/Vallejo pots are a different size than Citadel. No holes means you can keep a mix handy.

I also think that going generic is better.

I have a wall-mounted nail polish display rack for my paints and then use small sets of plastic drawers to hold my tools and basing materials - sort of like the one here (and it's pretty cheap) http://www.target.com/p/sterilite-small-weave-three-drawer-countertop-unit-espresso/-/A-51910095

And then for the brushes I really like, I have one of those "brush crate" type things

I've got some of these sitting on my desk. They do the job, but were hard to assemble.

Using acrylic nailpolish racks my self

Works 100% fine some obscure large and fat bottles dont fit but they will fit pretty much any normal hobby pots.

Just buy some sheets of plywood and make your own. It's no different from a spice-rack.

So I ended up going with these nail polish racks from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GBCPM6I

I got 2 and they worked great. Fit my whole new army painter complete set, with plenty of room left over for old paints too. I tossed out most of my crusty old paints though and just kept a few that that I use often. The shelves are wide enough for GW pots too.

I actually really like the paintier, which you can find on amazon. However, it looks like the price was jacked way up since I purchased it. I think I paid half of what it is now lol.

^^ Looking good. I'd never thought about using the nail polish racks, Think that might be the way I go when setting up my new station this summer.

I just ordered one of these and am pretty excited about it. Got this one for my GW paints and plan on getting some of the other ones for vallejo, etc. I've read good things about them and you can add to them as needed.

I just made mine, couldn't find one large enough that didn't take up too much desk space.

Ikea tabletop and some aluminium extrusion.

I agree I picked up a nail polish rack a few months back. Cheap 4 row one cost me ~$20 with shipping. Holds games workdhop/citadel paint lots fine but transfered all my GW paints to dropper bottles so I can fit more paint per row! Plus dropper = better

Nah, that's fine, it's leaning backwards and the bottom edge can't slide away from the wall.

Much more dangerous is sitting a small box on the cabinet in front of the rack and then pushing it with the back of your chair as you turn (the guard at the bottom doesn't stop you pushing the bottom of the rack towards the wall at which point it topples towards you.) Still, you only do that once and it doesn't hurt the paint.

If you really want a lip then you can get asymmetric channel extrusion.

Thats true.

actually just picked up a small bending break from harbor freight. its gona be fun actually riveting sheet metal together to make some bitching stuff. im using the acrylic polish rack atm but that might change to something a little more 40k sooner or later.
