What do you think? Are the new oval bases from AoS going to be the new standard for bike bases in 40k?
I'm in the process of rebasing my marines from 25mm to 32mm, so i might as well do my bikes at the same time if they will come with oval bases.

one cool option is adapters. I've got a 3d printer file for making a base thats shaped like the oval, but has a slot in it so that you can sit the old style biker base inside

Yes, because there's nothing like spending 5 bucks worth of 3D printing instead of buying a 1 buck base, while also waiting a ton of time to get your 30 bases done.

Might be, although I prefer the new oval bases than the old bike bases. The old bike bases just looks goofy.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.
When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do. |

They're already standard (for the newer, re-boxed kits):

What? I could print 100 of them for the 5 bucks you mentioned.

Its a hard decision. From a tactical perspective its much easier to fit the old bases together in a tight formation, the new ones are much wider. Not really sure what to go for..

With the same toughness / elasticity, zero prep work and under a day, etc. ?

why not? Takes about 20 seconds to lay the objects out in a slicer, and you can decide to have whatever strength of bendyess you want by changing the infill density and pattern.
Printing one of them takes about 15 minutes (less if I lower the infill but I like 100%), and I can fit about 6 of them on my bed at a time. However I can also start it and then head out to class or work.
