I dont think if this has already been said but does anyone think Grimnar is an over priced piece of garbage?

He doesn't seem to have any redeeming quality and just gets stomped by anyone else of a similar points cost.

Maybe im just not seeing it but where is his exceptional unique gear or army wide buffs?

He just seems to have a basic stat line with average gear, a mounted wolf lord with, Artifice Armour, SS and Kracken bone sword (+1 Str AP2) would be way better for a cheaper price.

The "Obligitory cost as much as a Land Raider" characters in most codexes are generally never as good as a vanilla-built character, for the sole reason that they take up so many points that if you want a combat lord, you can build something almost as good as them for half the cost, while if you want buffs two librarians/rune priests can often do a better job of buffing for the same cost.

He doesn't suck, he's just extremely overcosted like many other characters. A warboss in megarmor and lucky stikk cost 100 points less ghaz and is better, a succubus with glaive and armour is 40 points less lelith and she's not that different, ragnar blackmane is worse than a typical wolf lord ecc

I'm hoping with the new narrative play for 40k more of the special characters will see time on the table.

yeah I admit to curiosity about how that'll work. I could see narraitive play being the only option for people who wanna use allies.

Logan Grimnar isn't as bad as other characters given that has a chariot that allows him to zip all over the battlefield.

He isn't as good as a Dreadnought with a Drop Pod.
Or a basic Razorback.
Chariots suck that hard.
