For the love of god....just because you discovered dips and washes does not make you a commission painter. If that is the extent of your "skill" then by all means use those techs to get your armies ready for tabletop play. However, do not post that you are a "commission painter" looking for work until you expand your repertoire.
Thanks

Not sure why certain techniques preclude people who paint things for clients in exchange for money from calling themselves "commission painters".

It's a free market and commissions for painting miniatures are not regulated in any way what so ever save for appropriate tax aspects and employment etc... Ergo the business side.

The artistic skill has no regulation - no control - no approval body. It's purely a case of market choice - buyer choice.

And yes in nearly any market there will be more people of lower skill and fewer of higher. Where there isn't regulation to provide a minimum standard the numbers of unskilled or lower skilled will typically be greater.

So posts like this won't achieve anything save to vent

(and thankfully threads like this are super rare - unlike on photography forums where you can spark them up rather like this very quickly )

Some people want an army painted for them quickly and cheaply. Why shouldn't people meet that need?

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Someone is a 'commission painter' if they accept commissions to paint.

There is no requisite skill level inherent in the title.

Moving on.
