Hey guys. I love the Death Korps minis from Forgeworld and have collected some and now I'm attempting a colour scheme for them, though I'm not sure on it yet. I wanted to do something different to your usual Krieger, who tend to be in very muddy tones and wanted something that could bring out their glorious detail.
Let me know what you guys think of the scheme I whipped up quickly. I think the main thing I'm not sure about is the orangey-beige, it just picked out his limbs nicely but perhaps blue or another colour would work better.

EDIT: not sure why the photos are coming through sideways, trying to fix it

I personally really like it mate, i think that the orangey beige contrasts well with the blue, and it kinda looks like leather.

I've ordered the Death Korps stuff for Shadow War myself, I'll be doing exactly the same thing shortly.

Anyway, I really like your scheme. I was searching and found this: https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/b/bf/Krieg_Uniforms2.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120622215405

Yours looks just like one of the 'proper' DK schemes and I think it really works nice. Yours reminds me of this guy: https://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/e/e1/KriegGren.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20120630203907

Thanks guys! I tried a bunch, one based on old Napoleonic troops, but they didn't work for the style of the Kriegers. So I wanted to go with something more similar to their usual schemes but giving it more pop.

What would you suggest for their bases? I was thinking maybe something muddy or dusty, with hints of grass, maybe dusting his feet and tail of the coat a little.

I'm digging that Buckskin and Blue combo.. that looks really sharp. I might have to look into that..

Hey, thanks

If you're interested, the colours I used for the coat were:

Outer coat (blue)
- Main: Alaitoc Blue
- Ink: Drakenhof Nightshade
- Highlight: Lothern Blue

Inner coat/cuffs (light leather)
- Main: Tau Light Ochre
- Ink: Reikland Fleshshade
- Highlight: Ungor Flesh

After painting the main colour back in after ink wash, I dry brushed the highlights on. This gave the coat a soft look and the leather a rough look.

Ah yeah it's a lot like that guy. What scheme do you think you're going with?

Dunno yet, still waiting on my models from overseas but I was originally thinking to go with that same color scheme. I was also tempted that by mustardy Steel Legion overcoat look.
