Unless the rules have changed we're allowed to talk about vassal as long as we don't post pics of battles but i know on universal battle people play warhammer fantasy quite a bit.

If anybody is interested and has the books (which might be harder to get once 8th drops) we could totally play some games on some of these sites. I'm not sure if vassal has been un-allowed to do 40k still but i know universal battle allows Fantasy to be played still. Basically it's a virtual online representation of the game you play. Extremely cheap (only need the rules) and you can play against people online even if they're halfway around the world.

Would any of you know a site like that we could play on and if so are any of you interested in playing?

Interesting. Interested. Not a lot of time to learn new ways to spend time however... Are these systems point and click ready to go or lots of prep necessary?

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Sweet. Saw that. Might someday check it out. Easy to learn?

My most regular opponent has reached his "stick" point. We'll continue to play 7th on his table or mine, so long as we both continue to have fun.

Is he just not interested in learning new rules or has he made his mind up about 8th already from the tiny fraction of the rules we know so far?

I have some doubts about 8th but I am still very willing to give it a try at least.

Out of curiosity why pictures are bad?

Anyway I liked vassal a lot with Call to arms series where it worked well but not sure would it work as well in 40k that's more squad based. Easier when it's individual space ships moving.

Though edition is irrelevant for me with vassal. 2nd ed, 7th ed with HH or 8th ed all is fine.

I'm just amazed anyone would stick with 7th of all the previous editions. If you're not going to advance, why not play a better older edition?

5th is better but please understand not all the armies sync up with it. I mean if somebody wanted to do mechanicus or maybe genestealer cults or something then they'd just be screwed. I understand your point but not sure i wanna go back to 5th as i have to delve through a lot of books and not everybody has those books. Everybody currently has 7th so it's easier.
