Hi all,

Quick one.

Whats the best way to remove bolters modeled onto Mk4 marines? -having used standard citadel glue.

I'm replacing them for Choomy Volkite chargers, but want a clean cut from the left hand fingertips; which is proving difficult!

Thanks!

Did you use plastic glue, or superglue?

If it was superglue, you can pop them in the freezer for a few minutes. That'll make the glue brittle and easier to snap off cleanly.

If it's plastic glue, you're probably SOL. Plastic glue melts the points of contact together. I would recommend a sharp knife, some files for cleaning up afterwards, and a lot of patience.

Yeah that was my thought, as I used plastic glue.

Oh boy this is going to suck!

The key is if you're not going to keep the bolters, you can lean your initial cuts harder onto the Bolters to preserve the hands better.

avoiding the lorax on Crion

If you don,t care about trashing some bolters. Cut them to bits and file down the hand joint flat.

Should be easy ernough?

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all.

Third attempt in... Changed to a new blade. Was inevitable really... Ah well. Waste not want not. Blood for the Blood God!

This is what happens when you try to remodel bolters on VIIIth Legion Terror Marines for volkite replacements. #Choom

If you have clippers, and don't care about the bolters, just use the clippers to remove most of the bolter, and then you can file or shave the rest out of the way. My Cultist/Catachan/Marauder "Conscripts" for my Guard got dedicated to Khorne because they caused my knife to take a few bites out of my fingers and thumb.. so they all have red headwear and hoods and are now known as the Red Menace.
