I'd like to run a Grey Knights terminator army supplemented by imperial guard.

No death stars, no shenanigans. Just some terminators, tanks and Kaldor Draigo. Oh, and Roboute Guilliman. because i painted him and it took mad days.

Are you going to execute the Guard at the end of every battle?

I'd like to field a Deathwing/landraider army. I've spent all of 7th playing Ravenwing, I really feel the first company needs some love.

Yeah, seeing raiders on the field again would be great. Especially the basic ones, when was the last time those things were even viable?

I'd love to do a really fluffy Inquisition list, with a variety of Inquisitors with highly personalized retinues, a few units of elite dedicated Inquisitorial stormtroopers, and some requisitioned PDF or Arbites forces. There were so few competitive options and so much emphasis on larger thematic formations, I never got to it.

Similarly, I want more variety to my Adepta Sororitas lists. There were only a couple of competitive options (mech MSU, foot blob) and a few unit types (Dominions, Exorcists) that were max-out-or-stay-home. I'd like Penitent Engines, Repentia, 10-strong mech squads, and other combos to be viable. Also hoping to run blobs of hive gangers or fanatical mobs with crazy preacher models.

I'm eager to see how they capture the flavor of the White Scars, the army I had in development but never really got to play under 7th. Obviously looking for a bike-heavy list, but I also liked all the other flavors of mechanized infantry, scout/speeder combos, and purpose-built forces they had established with formation rules and cool fluff. I'm hoping some of them makes it through into 8th, because I think WS is much more than just a bike army.

I'm hoping that something like the current Battle Company lists can be played, albeit without some of the cheese like free transports (which I know won't be there). I've already got the models; I just want to be able to use them.

A fethton of Land Raiders. I'm eager to see what direction my beloved Death Guard will go in 8th.


I possibly will do up a Cadian/Skittari force. Or hell, both.

Plague marines with or without rhinos, Nurgle terminators in a Spartan (please don't be too expensive points wise!!!)

I would love it if my chicken riders became viable. I have 8 of the things, bought because I love the models, but using more than 3 at the moment is just a little too much securing a loss even for me to do it.

I want to have khorne beserkers actually usable XD. Have high hopes with the new AP system.

Boyz on foot, Nobz, Kommandos, walkers of all types, and Space Wolves without Wulfen of TWC. Some things are going to end up inherently more powerful than others, inbalance happens no matter what you do in a game, but it should be so little difference that you can use other options and still have a close game. Here's to hoping in the next edition.

What first got me into eldar was the 3rd edition codex. The army lists there were Farseer, couple of guardians, and aspect warriors filling out some specialist roles. Maybe a tank/artillery for shooting. That's classic Biel Tan right there. None of this silly jetbike wraithknight nonsense.

I just invested about $350 in Tyranids yesterday after being away from 40k since 2nd or 3rd edition. I am betting on GW finally getting their act together. I almost came back to 40k on a few occassions in the past, but was turned off by the addition of flyers, titans, too much Pew-Pew, power creep/glaring balance issues and increasing prices (finecast wtf??)

After following along I have high hopes for 8th edition.Free access to all unit rules, Free access to game rules, ability to make changes to balance the game annually and lots of Streamlining. Chargers attacking 1st is huge, as is split fire, Morale/battleshock looks good, No more templates, Pistols look useful for once. Really impressed in general with most of the changes. I am essentially hoping that all units/builds are playable in general.

I have been building an "advance guard" Tyranid army. Lictors, Raveners, Genestealers, Trygon prime, Hormagants, warriors and a random Carnifex. OMG! No flyrant!

I 100% agree. I want to see all the cool different models come out rather than just units in rhinos/ a sea of god damn drop pods.

I'd love to field a list of guard which incorporates Sentinels, Ogryn, Bullgryn, Hellhounds, Heavy Weapon Teams, Leman Russes, Rough Riders, basically an army made up of cool units instead of just veterans in chimeras.

All I want to do is field an army where taking a squad of Rubric marines/scarab occult terminators doesn't result in an automatic loss.

The teased profile seems to be a leap in the right direction. They're going to be taking less wounds because of the wound table, on average their save going to be better than most marines and their bolters are shaping up to be an actual credible threat.

I'm just about drooling over inferno combi-bolters wielded by Scarab occult. A succesful deepstrike would result into 20 Str 4 AP -2 shots. That's 6 wounds on average (assuming T4) which not even terminators will shrug off easily.

Hoping to Bring back the Necron foot wall... with 3 Units of Immortals, Lots of Warriors, 2 Ani Barges, and a Monolith.

And the Destoryer/Deathmark Spam list.

I want to be able to field a super-heavy as a centrepiece model without completely breaking the game.

For instance, my stormsword looks really nice at the centre of an armoured company list but completely disrupts the game. The problem lies in the fact that if you can't direct enough fire to kill it in a turn, you may as well shoot at something else or you haven't weakened the enemy at all. I hope the new degrading stats help this.

The other build I love but haven't really used since 5th is massive infantry waves that advance across the field, with russes embedded inside to give heavy fire support. I'm really hoping that the removal of templates makes this much more viable, because it will be far easier to concentrate 50 Guardsmen when you don't have to keep 2" coherency against templates.

I agree. I'd also like to see footslogging become more common.
Aside from that, I'm hoping that Wych Cult lists will be stronger in 8th.

I'm sure of that; hell, you can do that with just a CAD even in 7th. I just want such an army to be viable, preferably with all of those models that I bought to make my Battle Company. From what they've revealed I should be able to run something like that, so I just have to hope that it will work well in 8th. I wonder what the Dark Angels will get as far as "chapter tactics"?

Orks. They have such great models and the secondary market for model upgrades. I would love to see Boyz and big mechanized walkers storming across the table wrecking stuff.

I don't get to pkay as much but ive been working on a starwars themed guard list witch is mostly guys on foot its just in planning stages now but would love to be able to stick to my theme ideas and not need a bunch of tanks that i cant convert to fit endor battle idea

I'd like to field the 36 some odd nid warriors I have. And my swarmlord. I really hope that synapse isnt just a way to mitigate IB. And that IB isnt just "ur doodz kommit sudoku every turn lol"

I want my Steel Legion of infantry platoons in Chimeras to be effective a battle forged force. Right now I'm a little nervous that it might not be able to fulfill the requirements of some of the organization charts because it struggles to fit two Troops units into an army and fitting three is almost impossible as each platoon costs a minimum of about 400 points. Hopefully there will be some Guard-specific force organizations that accommodate platoons.

100 templars in crusader squads with 3 land raider crusaders as transports and a few chaplains for morale support ... because crusade.

On a similar note 200 skitarii vanguard.

I could see each squad in a platoon counting towards the number, thus a platoon with 3suqads of infantry and a HWT would count as having 4 troops

I'd like for Word Bearers to be good at something other than Summoning, especially with Summoning looking to have all its limbs broken, then being thrown out of its wheelchair.

It's a long fall...

BA Mech list with lots of Baal's (mainly flamestorms), Vindis, Speeders and a Sicaran backed up by a smattering of supporting JP infantry. I REALLY REALLY hope that GW don't forget that BA vehicles have an entirely different flavour to other marine vehicles due to Overcharged Engines - it's pretty much what defines them (what defines BA vehicles, not the faction as a whole).
