Not at all. Looking forward to the new edition and what looks like a genuine effort by GW to fix many of the faults that have gone before. As others have said, just collect your army. Enjoy it.

Well yeah everybody remotly sane is a bit anxious, since all we have are sporadic info.

We know pretty much how things will look like from afar, with no real detail, and more importantly, we don't know how the new armies are redone, neither the new units profiles.

Even though we had some profiles given as examples, they are still pretty vague, since you can't compare them with much else.

Does that mean I am insane? I am not anxious at all, I will take it in my stride

So many late nights and early mornings keeping the rumour thread up to date does tend to take a toll on one's sanity....

I am feeling pretty sleep deprived...

There's nothing they can release at this point that would make it worse than 7th, so no not really.

This. That's probably the point where a newbie becomes a veteran (or a grognard) - the edition he's used to changes and the changes don't entirely make sense. GW is a money pit, there'll always be a reason to spend more money to stay 'competitive' and as long as you're interested in the game, well then, money will probably need to be spent.

I've been through every edition since Rogue trader, and this reminds me most of the switch to 3rd when they basically did a full reset...

I'm concerned that my Mono Nurgle will lose their vaunted tankiness since everyone can wound anything in 8th, added to the fact they will likely be even slower than they are now... not being able to lock units in to cc will hurt too, as tarpitting shooty units often is the only thing I can do about them.

That said, could be that they wind up ok. I'll still play them anyway, and adapt as needed..

It's the uncertainty that bugs me. Shouldn't be long before we get to see though.

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

I'm super excited about this new version. Was out of 40K for many years, came back during 7th and really tried to get into it.....but I barely built a force. A few Iyanden warriors, harlies etc. Just couldn't get excited at all, even though my buddies are casual gamers. 40K had lost it's spark for me. however, the fire is burning bright and I have already doubled my painted model count.

Oh actually there is a bit of room for mono-god players, that they won't balance them for single god forces.... Didn't think of that.

I'm going to miss the hyper movement Space Wolves, other than that 7th edition can kiss my proverbial.
My biggest concern for 8th is that in spite of the AoS copy/paste shooting will hold the same dominance that it did in 7th.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.

Hard to tell yet. Morale can be deadly but marines will likely have ways of mitigating it. Casualties aren't taken from the front. So, at least mellee guys won't loose much range when charging. And heavier deadlier weapons are likely to get a point bump.
