Admittedly the new necrons have grown on me. Him in particular.

New Necrons have their ups.... but the C'tan just suck. Please return them to the old ways. And let us have our funky characters, but supported by huge mysterious, unknown legions of emotionless death-dealing robots.

I would have preferred if the "characters" for Necrons would have been updated tactical programs put into the robot, and they still stayed unnamed. Even though I never played Necrons, I rely enjoyed their old fluff. I liked the nameless, uniform robot horror that they were.

Oh, and I would give the Inquisition back their Inquisitorial Stormtroopers. Guys seem to have just vanished after the Daemonhunters Codex.

Ferrus Manus didn't die, maybe captured or MIA. This is literally the only bit of Horus Heresy fluff I don't like. I get it. I understand why it happened. But I still don't like it.

Yeah, i liked the fluff more when it was like this. Hope was gone, decay had set in, each victory was hardfought and paid with the blood of the best heroes of the day, and it was inevitable that sooner or later things would go south.

The one thing I'd change is that none of the primarchs are active in 40k-- Chaos OR loyalist.

40k needs new heroes, not old.

Jesus yes. It would make the army less about shooting, but that's okay. They would be a very jack of all trades army but they'd have so much variation in painting and modeling as well as way more interesting fluff

Hmm... Okay I want to swap my answer. The Emperor no longer is renamed to Dave..

After being decapitated Manus gets intered into a dreadnought and slowly becomes a Helbrute. By 40k he has been lost, recaptured and traded so many times his origin is completely forgotten and he is just another unnamed, completely insane thunder-hammer wielding helbrute.

Bonus points if he has moments of lucidity and all the marines around him laugh at him for believing he is a primarch and not a helbrute.

Yes! I was thinking 'god I hate Newcrons so much', but then I also hate the growing fanboyism around Marines moving them from posthuman warrior-monks to OMGAMAZEBALLS superhuman heroes.

Saying that, I will acknowledge he's had some good ideas along the way, and writing fluff must be hard when you have to simultaneously appeal to grimdark cosmic horror appreciators like me, and also pre-teen Marine fanbois.

If I had to pick one single thing it would be Newcrons. The old codex was a masterwork of unknown cosmic horror from the depths of time. The new codex is space egyptians when we already have space egyptians.

Go back to Oldcrons. There is nothing I like about newcrons and I've never understood why people like things like Trazyn.

In consequence, Emperors warp presence drifts through space until he's rescued by a stupid Dragon geezer, whos introducing him to realmgates, leading to realms where some of the Factions survived.

Emperor creates post-Primaris-Spacecast-Storm-Marines and starts crusade.

retcon the elder fall, that way the elder run the galaxy, they are the only faction that matters anyway right... I like them better than imperium of man anyway,

How certain everyone thinks it is. Half the fun of the fluff has been the over the top makes no sense but they say it's gospel, but everyone else 'knows' it isn't.

Things are a lot less one sided when everyone gets the space marine treatment and no one tries to hard to make sense of things.

I'm not mad on the idea of Orks being some sort of sentient space-fungus

I'd remove dark angels.

I would remove Tau or SoB. Cannot decide which I do not like more.

Another vote for Newcrons. Just an ugh and and a no for me.

Possibly Girlyman coming back they way he did with the Eldar alliance and rebirth too. Silly silly stuff.

And I'd probably change Ghaz and Orks to be a much bigger threat than they currently are - although GW do seem to be at least trying a bit on that front.
